Unfortunately, we all haven't gotten lucky yet or call it fear of the unknown. What kind of job did you find? I just want to be able to pay bills!

I honestly thought that NOW would be the time that WAG couldn't get away with obviously nerfing MGT scores(even good MGT's)....boy was i WRONG.

I just put in a mgmt all-star year of performance and got shafted for my efforts. Seriously. I've had my eyes and ears open for other job options, but felt like i owed it to myself to be the best i could be and really work my ass off for my store in every facet...review discussion was extremely positive but the score was a joke.

I feel like just shitting on the rug from this point on and mailing it in. "I'll show you what a 3.4 MGT looks like."

Fuck you WAG.

I cant speak for other markets but in our district,no mgt score was influenced by anyone. The store manger did the eval and no one gave gave any direction or told us to make them lower. Both of my MGT's scored quite well

Glad to hear it worked out for you but this may not be the case for all.I would tell no one to leave unless they have something lined up.This may sound like I am drinking the Kool-aid but even with the changes,Walgreens is still better then most retailers to work for.Dont believe me-Ask some mangers of other retailers-They work longer hours for less pay almost everywhere.

Lol just found out that best mgt in store, who is pretty much running the store, no exa, 30 year sm who sits ass all day, got a 2.7 .... sm's favorite ba that she just promoted to sba 2 months ago, has the lowest ranking for suggestive sales in district, got a 3.8 .... as soon as her eval was over went apply for sfl.... wonder how long till she's next asm too lol. Bitch is 22 yo high school drop out, adjusting to the market my ass. As long as the majority of sm's are like this, and they are, all we are going to see everywhere is Hugh amounts of favoritism as well as a giant brain drain, so to Walgreens I say a big old ffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

I think that is the misconception... If you are content with giving all of your working years to retail then the grass may not be greener on the other side. Why leave one retail hell for another. So in that case enjoy retail life... I'll never go back to that crap. I'll enjoy my weekends, holidays, nights off & my 5 day work week.

Sorry, MGT Dude. This company is ruthless and greedy right now. Don't beat yourself up. Give it time. They are going down a very bad road. I am off to protest the bullies this morning, I will be thinking about all you workers, getting f***ed over, to give me courage. It's lonely out there on the street corner without my comrades, but somebody has to do it. LOL

You think the grass is greener but it might be spray paint covering the patches. Where did you find your new and exciting job? I am assuming it is not in retail. I too would love to be a part of this utopia. Please share

3.4 is a good score! That is above average and mean you are exceeding expectations!

I wouldn't get worked up about a 3.4.

Pretty sure if you're over 3, they at least see the potential in ASM-T. Those under three need to worry.

I wanted out of retail. I got out of retail. I didn't look for another retail job. I stuck with the wag until I found my non spray painted green grass.
If you want out of retail. Then don't look for or compare retailer jobs and wages...id assume in that case you love retail or are willing to become complacent and unwilling to create change within your working life. Do yourself a favor, get a plan figured out that works for you. I did, And you ask my new job. Well that's personal...there are lots of great jobs out there. Put in the effort and it can happen for you as well.

But to keep this on track... The last review I got was 3.2. We're all just "meets expectations" employees with a couple "above" and maybe a "below" mixed in for good measure. Why break your back and never be recognized. At that point the expectation is up and realized from that point forward.

Seriously? You think thats good? Consider the fact it is out a possible score of 5. Realizing no one is perfect it does seem to be a bit of a shame that reviews the last few years not been very fair minded. Any good MGT or EXA who is kicking butt should have closer to a 4. I have seen reviews lowered this year because of top down influence for no good reason at all.

Hoping soon to walk away from Walgreens. all that is holding me back is my lack of a degree. When i have that in less than 8 months I should be in good shape.

Just finished my six Sigma Black Belt, CAPM, Project+, and soon taking Agile/Watershed based PMBOK classes. On top of that in 2 years will have CCENT,CCNA, CCNP, CCNA Security, and CCNA Voice.

For years, managers at every level of Walgreens gave people who did their job a 4.0+, while giving those that did the minimum at work a 3.0. Almost no one in the past got a review less than 3.0 unless they were horrible.

This led to the weak people never getting fired and a culture that had no accountability.

New reviews are based on the idea that someone who is meeting expectations (aka doing their job well) gets a 3.0. If employees have areas of weakness that they need to grow on, then they get below a 3.0 and are told what there areas of weakness are and giving a chance to grow and improve.

Employees who fail to grow to expectations.(expectations being that you work hard and get results) will be pushed out the company and replaced. importantly though, pushing employees out is NOT the goal! It is identifying areas that need grow and working with employees to improve to have an overall better workforce for the company.

There is a calibration done on these reviews... They're subject to DM approval so that no one looks "to good" on paper. It happens on many of them! I know of one such review that had nothing but glowing, gushing comments for every single question, yet the scores for a couple of them weren't in unison with the comments. This is blatant proof that it got kicked back and the mgr obviously changed a couple scores after the fact. Heaven forbid we have an employee that excels and we give them the proper acknowledgement!
