Doesn't anyone know how the layoff process will go for floaters ? Will it be based on seniority? Will the Rxms have a day as to who stays and who goes ? Annual evaluations?

They go based on if ur good or not. If ur a floater u must suck. All floaters that come to my store are slow n lazy. That's y thy don't get a home store.

Floaters are usu new grads, not as much experience but most are highly capable of getting their own stores. Then there are floaters who have been around along time and these usu have issues and therefore can't and will prob never a get a store. In my district, floaters will be cut based on seniority years with walgreens, same as any other pharmacists regardless of position. Depending on how much hours need to be reduced, all pharmacist positions are not safe, except for RXMs. RXAs, split, graveyard, and floaters are in the same boat, based solely on seniority and not performance nor job code.

In my district, many staff rph with years of experience had their hours cut. Was not based on seniority or performance at all. Floaters have been untouched so far.

Think what u want its all performance. A small percentage of floaters are recent grads. But out I'm my district floating pharmacist suck. They can't handle my store. They end calling ic3 all day. I'm glad Walgreens finally has an excuse to get rid of those.

I hate that the company always bases layoffs on seniority, because it's usually the ones that have been around for a while that are lazy and just sit in the chair f4'in and not doing anything else. I hope they are smarter and base it off performance efficiency and customer service. Because they can use that criteria to rid themselves of the lazy floaters who definitely do not earn their paycheck

I'm a RXM that feels the need to stand up to some of these comments about floaters. In their defense, they are in a commpletely new environment each time where the meds are in different locations and the staff act totally different. A lot of techs act like the floaters are substitute teachers so they totally slack off. I do agree some floaters are slow, but there are so many staff rph and rxm that I could say the same about.

Agreed. I have actually seen two floaters promoted directly to RXM. They came out of school and hit the ground running.

I agree with you. I have a regular floater pharmacist at my store that I really appreciate, who works very hard. They just reduced our operating hours in our district 9-9 M-F and 10-6 S&S in most stores, and he's probably going to be laid off (and many others) because of his lack of seniority. There are plenty of others who should retire or lose their jobs before him, but they are going strictly by seniority. It's wrong.

in our district there are several floaters who have been with company for many years- were rxm for years and were demoted due to personality conflicts with management and/or age. They may not have as much enegry as newbies but5 certainly not lazy or uncaring- and most all new rxms are new and promloted from flioating- because have alot of energy, they are yes-man and they dont kn ow how pharmacy used to be or should be

Walgreens floaters do not get fired. The law of statistics are defied in several ways so that floaters quit.
1. Practically every day that a floater works in most instances is truck day.
2. Most days a technician will call in sick on a floaters shift.....tech hours are saved for permanent staff pharmacist.
3. Store pharmacists typically come in late or leave early when a floater is working a shift.
4. In many cases floaters are left with shifts the day before and the day after holidays. They typically do not get the holidays due to staff pharmacists "deserving the overtime"
On the positive side, there is a greater incentive for floaters to drop a dime to the DEA for stores being "team players" with respect excessive oxy and sudafed sales.
