I'm currently employed with rite aid pharmacy, I put in an application for the position of a sl with walgreens, how extensive and what type of background check will they do?

I'm pretty sure they do the standard background check....Any previous criminal activity, and if you include references they call them basically the standard. And if you are hired you will have to pass a drug test.

But Walgreens highly prefers transfers over hiring new people(especially for management), the last couple of times a SL position came up it was posted in the office so if any Walgreens employee puts in for and is at least a decent employee you won't get it. At my store since I've started all 3 management positions changes were transfers.

And the fact you even have to ask this stupid question means you are trying to hide something. It is like a drug addict asking if they do drug testing before they get a job....i mean seriously?

lol -- yep, whenever an applicant asks me that sort of question (usually it's "do you do drug testing') that to me is an automatic disqualification.

Good luck, though honestly with all the stores management fighting to get these positions, and lower employees vying for them, your chances aren't the best.
Still, It never hurts to try.

If you meant the SFL position and not sl, you would have the advantage of already being somewhat familiar with HIPAA laws and the pharmacy.(From what I have read, Walgreen wants SFL to be cross-trained in pharmacy eventually and is having some difficulties filling the SFL position with current employees.)

Lol, yeah i know, the truth hurts too much. Honesty and facts seem to get in the way of peoples brains when they hear a shred of the truth.

Ok, I was wondering the same thing, however I was already offered a position and was honest and told them about my background. However I don't know if it has to be approved by corporate or what. My background does have something on it but it is not related to drugs or theft. It was also a misdemeanor. Just waiting for it to come back, to start. Also wondering how long it takes.

Walgreens will interview your ex-boyfriends and girlfriends to make sure you don't have any deviant sexual history and that you stick to the missionary position at least 80% of the time.

If it is a federal felony. Do not even mention it on your application or to the people doing the hiring. I was convicted of a federal felony(drugs) and they still hired me, Im guessing they only checked state which nothing shows up. Only be worried if they do an actual live scan. I lied and am an employed felon. Learn the ropes.

I am not at all worried about the drug test bc I don't do them but will they not hire he bc of background ..??? just like you I lied as well. I answered no on the application and definitely didn't tell the hiding manager... so???

Background tests seem to be getting processes at a snail's pace right now. Or maybe it is just my district. Most potential new hires for my store usually end up finding other work before their background checks at wags has even been completed.

Ok after I went to my interview they offered me the job on the spot at Walgreens. I just got confirmation that I passed my drug test. My back ground check is what has me sketched because I have a home invasion 2nd degree(non violent) the initial charge occured in 2011 but I didnt get convicted until a lil over a year ago. How are my chances looking for passing the check ?
