I got an internship position at the second harvest food bank in the southbay. It's unpaid but the experience is invaluable because I'm applying for acceptance in the masters program for public health for fall 2013.

They recently transferred me to a 24 hour store as a "promotion" and I tried it out for about 6 weeks before deciding that Walgreens isn't the way to go.

I been Walgeeens free for about 1 week now and people have been noticing my new positive attitude already!

I say overall my experience has been a positive one but I never seen a company's culture and morale change so quickly and dramatically in just a couple years.

I only worked for Walgreens since 2009, but even back then it was different then it is now. I don't think retail management is a bad career choice at all, but sometimes you get tired of playing the pawn for others.

And again, MGTs apply around if you feel the same way. I had interview offers for store manager positions at PacSun, Foreign Exchange, and salaried manager position at Target. I only have 4 years management experience and a 4 year degree in marketing. So the opportunities are out there!

For those applying for ASM's best wishes, I hope you hard working MGTs get rid of the deadweight current EXAS and SMs. The company needs people who want success as oppose to those who feel that they have deserve success.

I am going tomorrow for a Assistant Manager Interview for AT&T. It is more like a co manager job. I will get about 1k less than the store manager a month, but do all the same things. This is my fifth interview for the position. 1 with DM and now 1 with the SM I would be under. I hope it goes well though it sounds like I have the job almost wrapped up.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aquarius

You're very feisty and energetic and there's a lot you want to achieve. You'll get rather impatient if anyone stands in your way. A close emotional relationship will either be sexy and exciting beyond belief, or bad-tempered and tetchy. If you're in a grumpy mood, try to work out why - and what would improve matters. One thing that's bound to help is physical exercise, because it will burn off any excess nervous energy.
