Replaceing USAir turbo-props on short-haul routes with DL regional jets will create additional congestion delays due to airspace constraints. I thought airines would have learned by now that small, turbo-jets on short-haul routes in congested airspace is a bad combination. This might come back and bite them when their on-time performance tanks.
UA/CO's single airport hub at EWR has a lot more advantages than DL's 2-airport hub offering roughly the same number of total flights. Good marketing spin for DL and it might look good on paper but in reality I see some logistical disadvantages.
I see AA getting hit the hardest with DL's expansion.
