I'd love to interview any one of her students and ask what they are planning to do to put food on the table when they grow up. Would also like to know what the return on the cost of a single credit hour of her class will be. I doubt that if their parents weren't paying the freight, they would not be wasting their own hard earned money on such nonsense. That's right. You're a church freak and you lemmings don't believe in the Sciences. Science blows all your superstitions out of the water. Just so you know, my branch of Science is behavioral. We question oddities. Similar to what causes one to resort to believe in pretend ghosts and false idols in order to enhance one's being. Need it simplified? I bet you do:) Statistically, the higher one's level of education, the less likely one is to believe in religion. Interesting.

Marge is a cult now, or is she finally explaining the reasoning behind her inconsistency, aka multiple personalities? Marge's purpose in life and Scientology is perusing message boards, airline message boards at that, for her studies. You see Marge, you've been wrong all along - we are only here to study you. What is it they say about statistics? Apparently some believe they are much more intelligent than the founders. Most, if not all, were at the very least Deists, and believed in a "higher power." A number of medical doctors I know are Christians and represent their faith when they volunteer to work in countries in Central and South America at significant expense to themselves. I'd like to see a list of Athiests who do the same. Most of the U.S. Congress is made up of believers in a "higher power." http://www.doxa.ws/other/smarter.html

Oh, you did. It's a shame these masses of Christian Physicians you know contribute their time and expenses based on their faith. It's more impressive to be charitable because it's simply the right thing to do:) Motivation counts... I didn't say I know "masses of Christian physicians." I didn't say that they contribute their time and talent or incurred expenses based on their faith. I said that they represented their faith when they volunteered the above. There is a difference. They are not slaves of their faith, but people with a free will. The difference may escape someone of a "higher intellect", however.

Most of the U.S. Congress is made up of believers in a "higher power." Well than God Help them because they've got a pretty bad track record. Sorry Capt, But I am not to impressed with our government of today. And still don't have high hopes for tomorrow.

Sorry Capt, But I am not to impressed with our government of today. And still don't have high hopes for tomorrow. Hey "wine." I think we can say God help us all. Who does it right all of the time? The folks in Washington are who we vote in. We can vote them out every six years in the Senate and every two years in the House of Representatives. The electorate is to blame, and that's you and me. Personally, I believe that most of them are honorable. Hell, I think most of us are honorable. Goals aren't that much different, but the methods vary greatly. With few exceptions, I don't believe honor is the issue in Washington. I believe we (the people) have lost sight of what the phrase "a government of the people, by the people and for the people" really means. In a word, "responsibility." Why does anyone look to Washington for what they need in their personal lives? It's not what Washington was designed to do. Has anyone ever given thought to the idea that Washington can not fix "it?"

One word "special interest lobbyist". When I was a junior gal with a housefull of kids, on furlough, I would buy a case of Mac and Cheese mix mix Kool Aid and turn off the AC and turn up the ceiling fans and tell the kids when they got hot to go jump in the pool! Imagine a woman in one of Houston's nicest neighborhoods clipping cupons pawning ANYTHING that she could with no sentimental value and eating Mac and Cheese for months on end. My kids swear it is why ripped jeans came into fashion. We all still laugh about it but I NEVER lost or got behind on the house payment even when I was widowed and had $200.00 to my name. I just charged it until the insurance money came in. Time are tough and we all just have to get tougher, when it comes. I hope we all make it through this.

My sons insist - at 34 & 31 - they are better people because we struggled - but we did it together - the three of us. Because they had to earn all those things a lot of their friends were just handed, they learned to value what they had. They, in fact, made shopping at Goodwill cool! My soup recipe: start a pot, every day add whatever is on hand - my older son now uses to feed his street people in SFO. Values can be taught - but they stick better when your kids see that you actually live them. Whatever happens now, in the industry, the entire country? I rather suspect you will land on your feet! Good for you!
