Residents of Perry, Iowa, wonder if it could be next small town...

They need to round them all up.

I find it amazing that entire towns go on alert when a possible ICE raid is rumored. ICE should follow thru, period!

It makes me sick to hear a town will harbor known illegals. If i break the the I dont think my town will do the same for me. I will have a fast ride to JAIL.

When you base your economy on illegals, it will collapse eventually. Even if there were no raids, what if the climate of the region changes and the jobs slow? They will move on. Many are transient and follow the jobs. If they get a job that can be long term with little chance of raid, they will hang around in one area. But look at how many move on when the job climate changes?

A lot left to go south after the hurricanes as there were more jobs rebuilding. Construction company owners were commenting on the exodus of employees just due to the increase in jobs further south. At that point we still had a lot of growth locally and many huge development projects in the works. But when the grass was greener south, they bailed and moved on. Employers could not get jobs filled from legal or illegal means. There were too many jobs and not enough people.(Like I cry when employers use only illegal means to fill jobs). These companies overextended themselves and got burned when a lot of workers left. And this was even before the illegal immigration crackdown!

Make the analogy to buying a house with a variable rate mortgage. Who knows in five years where the rates will be? Your rates could shoot up and you be in trouble as many are currently.

You put your economy in a very unknown realm, when the grass is greener someplace else, they will move out. Your economy will suffer.

Did you watch the 60 Minutes documentary on Schuyler NE a while back? The town looks like Old Mexico. The Mayor had no problem with the town's appearance.......but failed to say his family owns most of the store fronts. I sat in shock when the undercover reporters showed the purchased ID documents then used at the packing plant in town. When asked how the same person could work at another plant in KS-the plant had no idea. Talk about a raid that needs to take place!

I missed that one. But I am also not suprized.

If they're not here illegally, they have nothing to worry about.

If they are here legally and working in teh plant legally as the managment says they are, there is no problem. If they are here illegaly then ICE should do it's job and deport them. If it is found that illegals are working in the plant, then menagement and owners should also be busted.

i recently went to the south shore mall & was shocked at the amount of predominately hispanic shoppers...the most typical shopper, was a pregnant hispanic woman, pushing a toddler in a stroller and two other children. the mother & children were speaking guttural spanish and looked, as if they just stepped out of a commercial for the christian children's fund...and the proponets of illegal immigrants are screaming for open borders? this country is in for a rude
awakening...

Who is to blame for this? Nobody but the ILLEGAL ALIENS! They and they alone put their ANCHORS in this position. It is a shame ICE has to go through all this trouble because of this ILLEGAL INVASION!

I believe the American taxpayers are fed up with the suckling of these ILLEGAL ALIENS. Just sucking us dry from the BILLIONS upon BILLIONS sent out of this Country every year, not to mention the BILLIONS upon BILLIONS the ILLEGAL ALIENS and their ANCHORS suck up every year. This must end now or we will soon be bankrupt and this beautiful Country will become a third world country...and don't tell me that these ILLEGAL ALIENS are doing jobs that Americans wouldn't do. Noticed that too, heh Melissa? My wife absolutely won't even go there. And that's a shame too, it wasn't too long ago that they did a big renovation job on the place. Strike one (and two) for me was a while back I waited in the checkout line at Macy's only to be waited on by a lady wearing a burqua(sp?) with only her face showing. Never went back.

you should try living in perry iowa.... it is horrible children arent safe.......my daughter can't even walk down the street without being honked at by a passing car of hispanics....i think that we do need an ICE raid are town would be alot safer!

get over it their ar immigrants everywere in every state just be thankful for health and being alive man u people.
