I would also state in the contract that is revised is that if the property is signed by another customer after the legal allowed days ( attorney review)you will receive your deposit back or they will hold it until the other customers closes

i have read all of the postings on this page about toll brothers and one person said it best, is the statement not to buy a toll brothers home, read there contract and what it states that they have to give you. take a book and read each paragraph and take notes and then read your notes and then get out of the contract. They will take your money, then you maybe sorry. I have not meet many people that are happy with them, and they do not care. So buy land and hire your own contractor. even if it takes a little longer then you want it to take. Why pay top dollar and have to possible rebuild, do to poor construction or mold issues. Becareful Good luck to all who may think they are buying from a company that states that they stand behind there homes. A home is a place you live and feel safe that is not always what you get when buying from toll brothers.

I too, am a unhappy toll brothers owner. I got suckered by the unique architecture and sales staff that said that toll was the cadillac of builders. I should have looked for the lexus of builders as my home has many defects that they are refusing to fix. I paid over 800 grand for this house and I am expecting a damn near good finished product and what I got was all fluff and no substance. DO NOT BUY FROM TOLL IN MOUNTAINS EDGE!!!!!

I have bought several homes this past decade and I have never ever had the problems I have had with any other home builder before I bought this overpriced outhouse. Once toll gets your money they will fight you tooth and nail to get even the most minor problems fixed. toll also has the worst buyers contract out there. buyer beware!

There are new and unsold homes down the street from me that had pipes burst yesterday because of the freezing temperatures. Toll only caught them today. I bet the homes have extensive water damage and Toll is going to cover it up.

I had no idea Toll Brothers was unreliable. They are one of the biggest builders in the country. It seems unconscionable that they could have an arbitration clause that screws the consumer this badly.
I was considering one of their sites in Marshalls Creek, PA but won't even bother. Does anyone know which of the major builders are reliable?

Toll does a ton of business here and many of us are unhappy homeowners are getting ready to file a class action lawsuit against TOLL. They hire cheap immigrant workers who do poor workmanship and on top of that they have an iron clad contract that basically states that if you have a problem, it will go to an arbitrator WHO WORKS FOR TOLL and you will be screwed royally.

We've been looking in the Mountains Edge area to buy our home specifically Mirasol at Mountains Edge. I'd have to say upon hearing so many negatives, we're considering other builders in that development.

EHW. We are in the Madera community and almost every neighbor has a toll horror story. They even refuse to fix minor problems. I have spent over ten thousand out of my own pocket to handymen and painters to make my home perfect. Seeing that you are in new york, have you been to mountains edge? There has been many fatal driver accidents for the past year between Buffalo and Rainbow and with nothing nearby, it feels isolated. I regret buying a toll brothers home and choosing this area just to save some money.

Mountains Edge is Garbage

It's not a golf course community and yet it builds McMansions. Nice track homes surrounded by much chearper homes. Try pulling out onto Blue Diamond. It's going to be a mess for years to come.
Grandfather was a Realtor his whole life. His wise words, "you can't change the neighborhood". Better to buy the crappiest home in the best neighborhood. Look in Southern Highlands. Golf course community with lots of parks, plenty of shopping, 24 hour roaming security. Personally I love it here.

MEiG, I wholeheartedly agree that Mountain's Edge stinks. Traffic is getting worse by the day and there is so much dust due to all of the construction and large trucks. I can't take this for another 4 years or whenever it is suppossed to be finished. I am putting the home up on the market in March and hopefully I will break even and then move back to Summerlin.

Hello there! HELP!I am scheduled to close on my Toll Bros house in a few weeks and have had numerous problems with them through this whole process. I feel like I cannot trust anything which we are told and they use a lot of bait and switch techinques. Like everyone else, I fell in love with our home and put some top dollars to get one. I am freaking out as time is getting close. Does anyone know who to contact at corporate in Austin, TX or PA? Thanks!

WtcaTB, get your real estate agent to settle your problems. My problem was that my agent warned me about Tolls contract and history of screwing people over and I didnt listen to her.

Did anyone have thought to bring a clas A lawsuit? I also own a tollbrothers-lemon.

I will never by another house from Toll Brothers, i would rather buy a handy man special for the price that we paid for these homes and redo it and then move into it. At least I would know what kind of work and workmanship went into the home. Buy Toll Brothers is worse then buying a handy man special. At least you get what you pay for with a handy man special. with Toll Brothers you pay big and get what is suppose to be a well construted home, but is actually like that show the money pit.[Have anyone ever thought of bring a CLASS A lawsuit? I am a owner of one TOLLBROTHERS-LEMON]

KWONING THE WAY THEY OPERATE I WILL DOUBT THEY WILL REFUND MONEY BUT AT CLOSING MAKE SURE YOU HAVE AN INSPECTOR AND LOOK AT THE SEAMS OF THE WALLBOARDS LOTS OF TIME DON'T PUT ENOUGH COMPOUND, AT TIME LESS. ALSO IF THEY DIDN'T DISCLOSE TO YOU EVERY THING ( i GOT LOTS OF PAPERS AT CLOSING AND DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT THEM AFTER A YEAR) THEM MAYBE HAVE A CHANCE. LOKK FOR DRAFT AT THE BASE BETWEEN THE FOUNDATION AND THE PLATE.
