I have some interest in a Toyota Prado and/or a Hilux truck with the 3.0 L diesel engine.I have been told these can get around 45 miles per gallon.Does anyone know if it would be possible to bring one of these to the states(without paying an arm and a leg)?It looks like Gautemala is the closest country to sell the diesels and they are left hand drive. If anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Yeah I was chatting with a girl in Egypt and they have them over there as well. Did you get your hands on one? It would be sweet to be driving something different then everyone else too.

You can get them from the Dominican Republic, it would cost you about $1,000.00 to bring it to the US... I have one in the DR and they are sweet, you get GREAT mileage with a 2.8 4Cyl Turbo engine..
Can go on a vacation and pick it up...

Well, Toyota is selling it as Lexus LX470 here and ripping off their American customers by charging them around $65000 while in the rest of the world it is been sold as a Prado Land cruiser and price is between $35000 and $38000.

Yes I bought a 2008 Toyota PRado in Panama, and I drove it back to Arizona. I have it here and have been extremely happy. I do get around 40 miles a gallon and every one else loves it also... Want to see pictures and know more email me at legrandelamb@gmail.com

I also brought a Toyota Hi-lux, the same year, but I bought it new for 28,000. They have gone up in price the last two years. Also about 40 miles a gallon, 3.0 Turbo diesel 4X4, automatic transmission. These two vehicles are the BEST. Let me know if you want informantio..... thanks Legrande

James... I do no think the 2 door is the way to go. I have business in Panama and see the value does not even compare to to the 4 door.

Zach.. You hit it on the head. The Lexus is the same car, only with a much better engine. If they sold the Toyota Land Cruiser here at the price I paid for mine in Panama they would not sell one 470 Lexus here in the states

The 3.0 liter turbodiesel in the Hilux and the Prado is a decent engine. The 2.4L is also OK, but the 3.0 really shines with its power. 175 horses and 300 foot-pounds of torque

The problem with the 2.4 engine version is a cheaper model, and all of the in Panama are standard transmission, do not have the safety glass or the air bags. This would be a sever problem bringing it back to the states. It would be better to buy the deluxe model which has all the safety features. LL

Keith.... Guatamala is not the best place to buy the hi. lux or the prado...... I think panama is, because they use the same money we do and a dollar is a dollar. The other countries except El Salvador has their own money and exchange problems...... LL

What was the approximate price for the panama prado, did you buy it from a panama dealer, were there fees associated with bringing it back and what type of mileage with the V6? Very interested,I'm in Panama all the time and I see these things everywhere!

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Leo

Today's Full Moon will affect your love life significantly during the next few months. You might have to say goodbye to someone you care about, or you may realize some difficult truths about your relationship. You may also have to make a tricky decision about a child or a creative project. Although this won't be a very easy time, don't make it worse by over-reacting and turning every hitch into a major drama.
