1 I have a friend who owns one and said, "now people can bash Toyota for 'bad brakes...' oh...then he laughed and said he has a Ford (AMERICAN COMPANY/AMERICAN MADE) that has gone through 5, read it, 5, that is FIVE recalls. Oh well. I own a Chevy Venture that went through 3 recalls...AMERICAN COMPANY/AMERICAN MADE....so Toyota still seems more reliable. And who cares, recalls are great. There is a problem that is fixed at no cost to the consumer. Unless you are one of those that bitches that your time is valuable you don't have the time to sit there waiting. If that is the case, then get your wife a job at a dealership (like my wife has) and then she can drive in in the morning. They work on the car, while she is getting paid to do her job, and then she drives it home. |

1 Funny part is this is only half the story. The brakes will malfunction in ice. So what do the geniuses at toyota do? They issue a recall for the nineteen coldest states. WOW just WOW. Talk about a pr nightmare in the heat of damage control. 95 thousand of those defective babies ONLY in the coldest states. Could you imagine the number if they did it right and went forward with the complete recall? Its all in the name of money folks, all in the name of money. Toyota doesn’t care about it’s customers. So let’s get this straight. If you live in one of the other 31 states and you decide to take a vacation in the north, you don’t count. This has lawsuit written all over it. Remember when I said toyota was becoming a baby GM? |

1 Disclaimer – our cars only stop in certain states. We are not responsible for vehicles that cross state lines that may or may not have colder temperatures than others. In example, our cars will stop in Illinois, but if you drive your car that was purchased in Ohio to Illinois, you are not guaranteed to stop because 1. you may experience icing and we aren’t able to control this abnormal action at this time. 2. We are green and expect to change the environment, buy a Prius, thus causing global warming to subside and in turn cause a leveling pattern in the weather of which we believe will be normal thus making the temperatures in Illinois subside and match that of Ohio, therefore we are unable to be held liable for icing in Ohio at this time. 3. it isn’t our fault, really. 4. We are real sorry. 5. OMG what have we done??? Footnote: the #1 vehicle sold in Cash for Clunkers was a Corolla. See #1. Again, we are really sorry. |

1 I like Toyota and you don't. I think I am right and you are wrong and vice versa. You will use any little fact that fits your argument like the list being old, or about how many cars it would be if they did every state, etc. I use the facts that fit my argument like the list of recalls where Toyota is not to be seen, or the fact that 100,000 cars isn't a big deal. So let's agree to disagree! |

Recalls are a fact of life in the industry. Every automaaker has, and will continue to have recalls at some time or another If recalls were the only criteria being applied to a purchase decision, then it's likely cars would never be sold. I've had GM products since dirt, and literally every one of them has had recalls--a few of them for potentially serious issues. I've never had an issue, and I still favor GM products.(Alttho' there are some others I like too) JJFADS doesn't like Asian imports, and always wants the last word in any disparity between his views and others. He's a GM loyalist to a fault. I don't always agree with him, but I respect his views. |

1 Good news Mr Staples...this is only for the 2009/2010 Corolla, Corolla Matrix and Scion Xd models. The Yaris is not affected by this. |

Recall Notice: 700,000 Toyota's with potential melting door panels
If you just got into your China-made Toyota Camry only to notice that your door panel has inexplicably melted, it's probably not your fault and the problem is going to be fixed for free. That's good news for you, we suppose, but not so much for Toyota. New reports say the Japanese automaker is recalling 688,314 Chinese-made sedans for faulty electronic window control systems. The damaged switches were reportedly caused by excessive lubricant used during manufacturing, which can cause overheating and, in rare cases, melting. The excessive lube issue has been traced to a single supplier, according to China's breathlessly named General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The vehicle most affected by the recall is the Camry, with 384,000 recalls. The Corolla comes in second with 245,000 units affected, followed by 35,000 Vios and 22,000 Yaris models involved in the recall. |

Here's something interesting while people bicker and bitch and argue over recalls and quality and reliability..etc. Pontiac (built by the New and improved Government owned, bailed out company GM) is recalling 10,000 Vibes due to brakes possibly freezing and creating greater stopping distances and the recall is in cold weather states..etc. And the engine on the Vibe is a 1.8 liter engine.
And oddly enough they were built in the California plant that was shared with Toyota. Must be sharing of technology that both manufacturers have the same issue. http://www.leftlanenews.com/gm-recalls-10000-... |

Pontiac is not “built by the New and improved GM.” Pontiac is gone.
They need to start an “only 100K” campaign. |
