GOOD I HOPE THEY COMPLETELY FAIL These foreign automakers have a huge advantage over American manufacturers because they have no pensions in the United States and have no unions! If the American public continues to buy foreign vehicles, they will have helped to destroy the U.S. auto industry!

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you have to be willing to hear other sides as well. I can't speak for the other Toyota assembly plants, but as someone who has lived in Georgetown, worked at the Camry plant, and sells Toyotas now I can tell you (dodgeman) you do not know what you are talking about. Toyota has been instrumental in providing jobs to Kentuckians. There is no need for the UAW because the team members do not want them there. Unlike the big three, Toyota takes great care of their employees. As for the quality in a Toyota, you can't beat it. It is well proven how long they last. They take pride in building that car not because they have a union contract. Toyota and other foreign automakers, nor the people who buy their products, are not responsible for the mistakes in Detroit. The corporate guys and the UAW have destroyed themselves. Here's another little point for you dodgeman, a Toyota Camry is more American than a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. It's built by Kentuckians with help from Kentucky suppliers.

key a import car.....lol, kind of childish dont you think? The bottom line is Toyota sets the standard in american for american cars. And speaking of american made cars...no car is fully made in america, not all parts are made here.

Sales are down but toyota is far from failing i'm confident that in a couple months when gm files bankruptcy due to a history with the uaw and poor craftsmanshiip that I will still have a job producing american built cars.

Well, Im a former DC emp who took a buyout after 8.5 years and saw the trouble coming. Im now at a plant that makes Camrys. I have no problem saying the quality of the products we make here is simply better than the Chrysler products I own. Case in point. I bought a new 09 SRT8 Challenger, what a car. I love it BUT the quality of the paint finish is very disappointing. Dirt specs and paint spit in numerous spots in the clear coat. Thats on items like the hood and roof. The door jambs and trunk area is even worse. The cars that come out of our paint shop are stoped and repaired if there is the smallest issue even in areas covered by trim or on the back of a fuel flap. I take no joy in seeing Chrysler go down the toilet but its been of thier own making by both labor and managment.

I agree with been there done that. The challenger is a nice car. Its almost as if the company fixed everything except the rootcause of what caused them to fail in the first place.
