I guess the ubequitious chain smoking and late night whiskey drinking that is the norm in Japan had nothing to do with it?

Hoping that the family gets an apology and the company does something too cut on such stringent work ethic. May he rest in peace.

Speaking of racist stereotypes the Japanese are one of the most racist and xenophobic people in the world.

Where do I start? We all know about WW2 atrocities that they never own up to.

Then in more recent times the Japanese refuse to accept refugees or immigrants from other nations. Reason? To keep the nation "pure"! Now where have we heard that before?

Ask anyone who has lived in Japan as a non Asian American and he/she will tell you how they were refused entry into bars, night clubs, restaurants, etc. because they were not Japanese.

So if you want to label anyone racist please put the Japanese at the top of the list.

America, the land of tolerance. Have you been reading all the tolerant messages posted here in the Breeze comments? All the tolerant people who love our neighbors from Mexico and those who come from other far away lands. Kinda' like the pot calling the kettle black don't you think? Let's watch and see who Dottie blames for the ills of society next!

Oh, how silly of Dottie, to think that you can refer to anyone as a racist or a xenophobe who is not caucasian. There are racists and nationalists in every group in every country, it isn't the exclusive province of American whites. Stupid comes in every color.

I'm REALLY confused as to how this thread turned to race.
Some poor guy worked 80 hrs OT per month and croaked.
If that number is a ref. point, I've got at least a dozen friends I better say goodby to ASAP.

Statistics show that per capita, Americans work more hours than any other country in the world. And we are seeing younger people (in their 40's) dying of heart disease. And it's not necessarily due to excess weight or bad eating habits. Loneliness, depression and overwork equals early death.

Lower stress, maybe? This guy was responsible for a hugely important project that could end his career if it went badly. That's some major stress.
