Maybe if more American would buy American cars EVERYONE would be better off rather than lining the pockets of those who killed 2600 Americans at Peral harbor.
How many did we kill at nagasaki and hiroshima? I believe it was many times more. WE also rebuilt Japan after the war, and taught them how to manufacture efficiently. After that they excelled and overtook us, because they kept wages (both worker AND ceo ) to a reasonable level. They also have a much better work ethic than US workers, if a worker can't do his job once he gets retrained, a second time he gets re-assigned or fired. LETS MAKE THE UNION SHOPS LIKE THAT, and see how many will get their 20 or 30 yrs in. They also LET THE PEOPLE RUNNING THE COMPANY MAKE THE DECISIONS , not saddle them with frivolous complaints and ridiculous demands. When the US companies adopt such guidelines then maybe more big 3 cars will be sold , as opposed to Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Hyundai.

Since you have so m uch compassion for the Japs maybe you should move there. We didn't kill nearly enough with the A bomb. we should have wiped them off the face of the earth. and who started the whole thing??? Hmmmmmmmmmmm???????? You sure do have a short memory. Take your peace flowers and plant them somewhere. And don't complain when your job is eliminated and sent overseas with the rest of your bleeding heart liberal Democrat friends.

Answer me this then: Where do the profits go from your purchase? Hmmmmmmmmmm????? So I gather you like the Japs. Have you ever seen what they did to Americans during WWII?
Were you even ALIVE then? What about all "we" have done in Iraq? I personally don't take any responsibility for that. Do you seriously think that the Toyota employees were responsible for Pearl Harbor?

I feel much safer driving a Toyota than a Ford, and they get better gas mileage. Economic protectionism is not the answer, at least for me. I will support domestic auto makers when they come up with a fuel-efficient design that is not vastly inferior to those of the foreign auto makers. You have every right to support American auto makers if you want, and I have every right not to.

Yes, I agree we all have "rights".....isn't that why we fight and die during wars to protect these rights?? I we spent our $$'s on domestic cars then our domestic car companies would have the R&D $$'s to to develop more fuel efficient cars. And how did Iraq get into the mix? Enjoy your Jap car and pleae take your "Support Our Troops" sticker off of it....it's way to hypacritical

You're a redneck loser. When you buy a Ford that was made in Mexico, how are you supporting Americans? You're not, you're giving Ford more reason to build cars in Mexico.

You missed the point and can't see beyond your "Ridiculous" liberal nose. Profits from foreign corporations that build cars here are going where?

How did Iraq get into the mix? How did PEARL HARBOR get into the mix? Since you clearly have problems with reading comprehension, my point was that blaming a Japanese car company for Pearl Harbor is even more ludicrous than blaming the average American citizen for the mess in Iraq. Do you work for GM or something?

If we all spent our money on domestic cars, the car companies would have no *incentive* to develop more fuel-efficient cars. Why spend money on R&D when you have a captive market?

I'm 100% not liberal. But, what you are saying is you care more about the rich ceo and shareholders than you do about the American worker - if all you care about is profits. The CEO taking home more stock options helps the American worker absolutely zero. Just be clear on what you are arguing for.

Wrong again! CEO compensation is a very small % of the total income of the company. Do a little research. CEO's first responsibility is to the shareholders and ROI

I said CEO and Shareholders. And the CEO is a shareholder they get stock options! But it still has nothing to do with the American worker.

Are you a complete idiot? Do you know where their jobs went? To another country!!! "American" cars made in a foreign country. As opposed to the factory workers for Toyota who are in America! What part of this is difficult for you to understand?

UAW workers bulding AMERICAN cars!!!!

There are more Jap cars made in this country than American cars made in other countries. My point is (and I'll try to make it VERY simple for even you to understand)American built American cars keep jobs here and have a far reaching (positive) economic impact on our economy.

Rosco, you are the reason "American" cars suck. The big 3 know there will always be flag wavers like you, who will buy their junk regardless.

Blabber on about Pearl Harbor all you want. It makes as much sense as saying you wouldn't be caught dead in a Kraut car because of Malmedy.
