I wouldn't drive a Toyota if you gave one to me. I couldn't, becuse it would be in the shop all the time getting all the recall items fixed. Hasn't Toyota recalled something like 8 million cars world-wide in the last year?

And Toyota never stiffed the investors by declairing bankruptcy like Chrystler and GM did.

How many ford trucks from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s do you see on the road? Now how many toyotas?

A Toyota can't break down because it's either in the shop getting the recall items fixed or they've been wrecked and the owners killed because of Toyota's faulty design. Ford has 3 cars on the JD Power quality survey. 5 if you count Mazda and Volvo as Ford has ownership in both companies. Toyota isn't on the list.

Collaborators will give them a pass and keep converting dollars to yen then complaign about the economy and no jobs.
Yea Tojo has a few token plants in the US and buy & retool from the motherland, even bring in a few token yen plants to supply parts with Japanese bosses in white coats glaring at the lazy Americans.
50% of the collaborators will complain about Quality as long as Consumer Reports tells them they will retain value without considering that they can't build an economy on Wal-Mart wages, inflated housing bubbles from fraud appraisers, mortgage brokers, pyramid financial schemes and high taxes to support those on the Gov't dole.
Yea the sheep will give Tojo a pass without even test driving an American brand.

hire a pedal engineer

Toyota needs to hire a gas pedal engineer. His/her only job should be designing the configuration of the gas and brake pedals and working with the carpet and floor mat people. Take a size 13 shoe, put it on the end of a stick and start poking around under the dash with it.

Hasn't Toyota recalled something like 8 million cars world-wide in the last year? Toyota has over-standardized. They are using the same part on all their models in some cases. So, if it's screwed up on one, it's screwed up on all 7 million of them. Clearly, pedal configuration and style needs to be mated to the particular model and the configuration of the passenger well and dashboard. You can't just design one set of pedals and put them on 10 different models.

To get a perspective on the scope of these alleged defects, realize that it takes only a few dozen complaints to the NHTSA to trigger a recall. On the 2006 Highlander stalling issue there were 32 complaints, no accidents, no injuries. The accelerator issue has many apparant causes including improper after market floor mats, driver error, and a very small number of accelerators that were proven to have stuck. Yes that is a concern and there are some quality issues, but nothing to warrant mass hysteria and a sell off of Toyota products.

I would like some Toyota Executive to explain to me how they claim to build the most highly engineered best quality vehicles, but they screwed up on a floor mat and people are dying.
