I think that the country is being socially stratified using education as the vehicle. The problem with this is, we are falling behind the rest of the world educationally.

Define "the rest of the world", in order to start understanding clichés used by government to make us more competitive.

I proudly say that I have NEVER been to college :D

Proud blue-collar worker with skilled trades.

College is nothing but the biggest scam in the world. Learning a real trade is the best thing one can do today. Get a Commercial Drivers License, learn welding, steelworking, plumbing, etc...

It's the economy and many variables such as book cost, school infrastructures, professor salaries, etc, etc. All colleges across the nation are feeling the pinch and the students are paying for it.

In reference to a trade, sure we need trained people not all H.S. students are going to make to college and the next best thing is to learn a trade. I tell my students to take advantage of the trade classes my school has. If some still want to go to college I tell to check out a community college that has associates in a technical field.

Thats cool but the purpose of college shouldn't be strictly for getting a job, people should go to college to escape their ignorance and grow, to become enlightened humans, this in turn will create successful people. But you are right as far as money goes I see many people with trades making more money than "professionals". However they will sit around watching basketball games for the rest of their lives while educated folks like Jorge can correct PR Myths spelling mistakes. LOL.. Just Kidding Jorge is my friend and I know he is well rounded and knowledgeable....

The UPR will not allow me into any of their grounds until a judge says so....

My ideas are far too dangerous and revolutionary for our state university.

How does that sound?

When you get too educated, you feel an obligation to change "things" by challenging them...suddenly all the fear is gone for knowledge sets anyone free.

It is about a job...the more you learn the more you earn. I earn more due to my degrees and hopefully I will start my PhD this fall and when completed it will give me the opportunity to move up in my field. However, I do agree in enlightenment and being well informed. I tell my students that with the exception of many geniuses there are informed, well versed subject matter experts in their fields of expertise. I was lucky enough to learn a trade in high school and when I joined the military I worked in the electronic communication field and later moved into instruction and now teach as a retired vet. I am so into education either in the arts, science or just to learn a skill.

Don't get me wrong...I am not an ideological martyr.

I just challenged the colony's own corrupted ways with the same federal laws they now defend (since last Sunday).

So, as you are able to see, my friend; I live by what I preach, nothing more and nothing less and there's nothing "loser" nor "cowardly" about my actions.

The colony not only opens a file and persecutes pro independents, they also "execute" anyone who wishes to end this undignified state.

A good college education used to be an automatic pass into American middle/upper middle class. Sadly, this is no longer the case. A large percentage of the current crop of college graduates are going to find a very unwelcoming job market. The reality today is, young men and women are going to find themselves with a large debt and very few employment opportunities.
Also, seeking out the profession you would like a career in is also no longer an option. If you are not part of the medical field you had better get a degree that will allow to work in the military/industial/prison/surv iellance complex.

I know! It is very sad and discouraging to see so many college grads not able to find work, but I am sure the economy will improve. I do agree a medical career is only going to grow with so many baby boomers retiring. As for the other career fields there will always be a demand. I teach and even this career field has been hit hard. I have tried to transfer to other school district and it is very selective and very limited to teachers in math, science and bi-lingual.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Leo

You're in a very idealistic mood today, making it almost impossible for you to view loved ones in their true colors. If they've got any faults you won't see them because you'll have blanked them out. This rosy vision of your nearest and dearest is fine if it doesn't last long but it will cause problems if it persists and you continue to brush any problems under the carpet.
