I'm looking for Fred Thompson, does he still work for Target?

hey all !! i work for store #2064 FLOW TEAM which is in pinellas park florida
the control that tl and etl and stl put on people at that store is totally rediculas
i cant believe a company that give 3 million dollars a week, yes i said a week can give it team members NOTHINGI INCLUDING ANY APPRECIATION FOR ALL THEY DO, AND EXPECT SO MUCH
THIS IS A COMPANY THAT EXPECTS PEOPLE TO LIVE OFF A MEAR 20 SOME HRS A WEEK AND THAT LADIES AND GENTLEMAN IS 40 FOR A TWO WEEK PAY PERIOD.
THEY RUSH US OUT AND EXPECT US TO BE DONE.
THEY REFUSE TO CHANGE THE AVAILIBILITY SO MAYBE YOU CAN WORK A 2ND JOB TO MAKE UP FOR WHAT U DONT MAKE AT TARGET THEY TELL US THAT THE SCHUDULE IS NOTHING BUT A FOMALITY, AND YOUR PRIORITY MUST BE WITH TARET.
YOU CANT TELL A EMPLOYER WHEN YOU CAN START YOUR SECOND JOB WHEN YOU DONT KNOW,I ALWAYS HAD A JOB THAT ONE FOLLOWS THE SCHEDULE NOT AT TARGET, DOES THAT SOUND LIKE CONTROL? DOES TO ME.
IF YOU ( AS A TEAM MEMBER) HAVE A PROBLEM YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE ABLE TO GO TO THE HR, ETL ,OR EVEN THE STL
BUT IT IS JUST A TOTAL BRUSH OFF THEY CLAIM TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT NEVER DO.IGNORENCE AND TOTAL RUDENESS BY TEAM LEADS AT THIS STORE IS RAMPANT FOR A TEAM LEADER TO CALL SOMEONE THAT IS HISPANIC DECENT STUID TO HIS FACE IS IGNORANT, OR TALK ABOUT SOMEONE TO ANOTHER TEAM MEMBER ( THE MAINTANCE MAN ) ABOUT A HISPANICIC MAN NEEDING TO LEARN ENGLISH BECAUSE HE DIDNT UNDERSTAND HIM BECAUSE OF HIS ACCENT THAT TOO IS RUDE IF NOT IGNORANT

I work for Target also. Everything you are saying is right. Not only at your store . All the Target stores are like that. Do you self a favor do not work for Target. They are even getting worse as time goes by. They know jobs are hard to find. So they push you to get all they can from you . And if you don,t like it. They will tell you leave. Someone else will take you job. Someone thats dosn"t know what they are getting into. They will work you to death , pay you the least, and give you the least amount of hours as possible. Give you a crazy schedule ,where you can get a second job. And when they want to get rid of you. They will cut your hours to almost nothing . So you will quit. They don't want to pay unemployment.

Team members at Target need a union. Anyone know where and who we can contact a union. We need a union . I will sign up and I know 98% of the other would too. Target is out of control. With a labor union they would not be able to treat their employees the way they do.

I am very curious where you all have worked before, I have only worked in retail and this is the 5th company I have worked for and definately the best by far. I am not saying it is a good place to work but by comparision to other retail companies I know it could be a lot worse.

I apologize if I in anyway implied Target gives a shit about their employess I am just wondering where you all have been to believe there are jobs out there that do. I have been at Target for over a year and I just don't find it any worse than the places I've worked for over the last 20 years. It's not their business to produce happy employees it's their business to turn a profit and keep shareholders happy. If you honestly believe there is a company (retail anyway) that would put there employee's happiness above a happy bottom line than I'd sure like to know where that is.

Completely disagree because it is all circumstantial and based on the type of person you are working for. My TLs for the most part (my closing, and electronics) are nothing but support, care, and protective when it comes to their team members' performances and stand up to the LODs for their concerns.

you have only been with Target for a year . Give it time you will see . You are right its Target business to turn a profit. But you don't have to treat your employees badly. Walmart had it right when Sam walton was alive. He said take care of your employees and they will take care of the customers. And look how big Walmart is. But since Sam died its not much better now. Companies like Target are just taking advantage of the state of the economy . Shortage of jobs. They can push and get more out of their employees . They know that most of them will take more of the abuse before they would quit. Target keeps cutting back on the amount of Team leaders and speacialist and team members . But I think they need to stop. Because if they are worried about the guest surveys. You can only spread it so thin. Just think about it. If a guest can find what he or she is looking for. and is happy shopping . They will buy more and come back. So by having enough employees to help. Target would profit more.

Yes a small deduction and a very good one. They get you more payroll rises and larger ones. As we know Target rises lately have been from very little to none.Ok Think about this. Every year when its time to get a Yearly rise. They can't give you very much. Because Target or your store didn't make very much money that year. So they can only give you from zero to fifty cents. But they are building more Targets all the time. You have to be making money to do that. And if you are not why would you want to. and as of now Target can fire you for anything. Say you have been working for Target for two years and you have always been on time and come to work every day .Suddenly you are going thru something like sickness , divorse , etc. You start missing work. And you don't deserve to be let go. You just need to fix whatever and you will be back to normal. and you get you job back. Right now they fire you for what ever they want. And there is hardly anything you can do about it. They protect and fight for good treatment and good pay and pay rises. Thats their job. Why and how do you think all those people up north get great pay. And retire with great retirements. Because they have Unions up north. Why do you think big companies like Walmart and Target do not want you to join a union. Because they will not be able to do what they are doing now. They are deathly afraid of unions. If we have a union they will have to pay out more money. So they won't make as much. Thats why they show you videos. And say the union are bad guys. They are tricking you to believe that.

I didn't know any targets were union yet. We are in the north and are not and in general wages are much higher here than in other parts of the country due to living expenses. I am far from any major city but you cannot rent a 1 bedroom appartment for less than $600 a month and it goes up from there. But sales in my store have been insane we have been up consistantly all year and will definately end the year with an increase so I'll get a raise this year right?

attention target team members !! let us not forget and ALWAYS REMEMBER! that this is also a company who gives 3 million dollars a week to the supposed communty and nada, zip, zilch to its own people ( its team members)all which to the community im sure is a huge tax deduction which means they get some or all of it back GO FIGURE !!!! CAN WE SAY CHEAP COMPANY ? OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA !!

I just wanted to comment about the whole "union" thing. Unions wont make target a better place. They will take more money from you. They will make it extremely hard for guests to get what they want. If you work in electronics you wont have to help a guest in toys or home improvement. There will be a shortage of cashiers to cash out guests since you wont have to back up the front end. And by the way, unions have no say in how much a team member will make. It's all smoke!

Unions would ruin Target. I work at one in the Midwest, and we have all of the same problems you all refer to. But if you are complaining about hours now, just wait. Get a union in and you can't pick up any hours, you can't get cross trained, you can't do anything but what you were hired in to do. Theres no room to develop, less opportunity to make money. Target does need to look at the hiring of Executives, it seems like anyone with a 4 year degree and a smile on their face can get the job. I think Target needs to reevaluate how it treats its Team Members, but I think a Union, although great in some companies, would be an absolutely awful idea. You should really look up facts, and talk to people about it.

I totally have to disagree with all of the negative feedback. I truly feel Target is an amazing place to work. I always feel appreciated for my job, I'm given at least 35 hrs a week and my hours can be as flexible as i want. You guys must be putting alot of negative pressure on your TL's for them to act this way. I don't understand, It must be you.

You are one of a few to feel that way. you must of just started at Target. or the changes have not hit your store yet. Give it alittle time. All of us could not be wrong. Target was a Great company to work for. But not any longer. Its not the people at the store . The problem is corporate making all the cut backs. With less team leaders and team members and less hours . And they are adding more tasks. And forget about raises . Some people received .08 to .20 last year. and that with a good review. That kind of raise is a joke. When everything is going up Gas , electric, Rent, water etc.
