Boycott until they're dead in the water... Target, Home Depot, Ben & Jerrie's, Chase Manhatten, any Soros organization... any corporation willing to hand this country over to a deviant 1% of the population and the Commie loons guiding them.

our President and a growing support among the people of the United States of America, especially among the rising generations will bring equality for all very soon. Gay marriage bans are going down in flames as bigoted, unconstitutional and discriminatory laws.

In America we have a Constitutional guarantee of equal protection under the law. Banning same sex unions while allowing opposite sex unions and all of the legal perks that go with it is a clear violation of this right. No one is saying the union needs to be recognized or accepted by the church, but the State cannot discriminate based only on orientation. If your hang up is on the word "marriage" being used, then fine I can understand that as marriage is a religious sacrament. But it also means that the State should not be using religious terminology to define a legal contract between committed adults and the special legal benefits that come with it. Everything should be called Civil Unions with applicant one and two. As a conservative, I cannot sit by and watch Constitutional rights be denied to fellow Americans simply because the act of male/male intimacy is nauseating to me. It is healthy for society to have committed couples in a loving marriage. If you want to protect the institution of marriage, then make it harder to get divorced before you start taking away the freedoms of others.

Boycotts don't work and allowing a committed couple to have the same rights as any other committed couple is not handing over the country. Your 1% estimate is off, but even if it wasn't that would still be 4 million Americans you want to deny equal protection to. On a side note and off topic, I love the Amite Oyster Festival and tubing down the Tangipahoa, but can't stand the amount of small minds there.

Unfortunately, the moralists want to define themselves as conservatives also and bastardize the definition. To me, a moralists trying to take away the rights of others is no different than the liberals who want to take away freedoms as well. As long as someone is not infringing on the liberty or property of someone else, then I couldn't care less what they want to do.

"Where's my coffee!?" Bill shouted. With hurried footsteps, James scurried off to the kitchen. Bill was never much of a morning person. A night-owl by nature, his late night online chat sessions, and now his obsession with ustream broadcasts from occupy clashes were starting to wear him out. Morning came early in the Bill and James household. Bill had a job. A good job, working down at city hall. Bill stamped marriage licenses with the city's rubber stamp of approval. How he hated that stamp. It's red rubber and red ink mocked him. But it mocked no more! When he heard that same-sex marriage was sanctioned in his state, Bill grabbed James and ran to the alter. A few quick lines, and voila they were married. James had always wished for more. He had plans to attend cooking school at the prestigious Kate and Sams' School of Home Cookin, but he ran out of money before he ran out of classes. Now he resigned himself to making coffee and scrambled eggs for Bill. At first he was happy to do it. Happily married you might say, but as Bill grew angrier and his love waned, James spent his days watching tv shows and doing laundry. Laundry. A chef doing laundry instead of baking fluffy deserts and delicious pies. James hung his head and silently cried. His tears made the coffee stains spread. "Gasp!" thought James! This will make Bill angrier than before. Grabbing the stain eraser, James noticed that it was toxic. For a brief moment, James fancied adding some of this to Bills coffee. Just a little he thought. He would never notice. I could blame the detergent, or the water. Shocked with his thoughts, James threw the stain eraser to the floor. "WHERE'S MY STINKING COFFEE??!?!" screamed Bill. The framed artwork from Target rattled on the walls. Target. It used to be such a happy place to shop. I met Bill there he thought. We were both buying those shirts. The ones meant to help the gay organizations. James poured the coffee into one cup. Bill never liked to drink coffee with James. James was going to be a chef, in happier times.

No one should ever be allowed to vote away the basic civil and human rights of others. If you do, expect people to fight for their families in the same way that you would if such a think was done to you. If you would fight to protect your own family, you should buy one of those t-shirts to support the families of others.
