Rumor has it that Mr Kuhn is a silent partner in all of this. Unbaised opinion , hardly!

Mr.Kuhn, Your stated that, " It appears that normal access to Sandy Beach will be restored as soon as the Selectboard and LLWP come to an agreement. The fact that these so-called "Friends" of Sandy Beach are actively working to prevent such an agreement is beyond my comprehension." Your statement of normal access to Sandy Beach seems to be a very uninformed, or perhaps a bit jaded ... Did you not LOOK at the new owners proposed contract ? It is on line for all to read. That would include people with opinions, such as yourself, who do not reside here in Lee. It is by no means any where near the " normal access " as you so state it to be. You are disseminating false information. Perhaps your " comprehension " is a tad short sighted.

It is beyond me why the town of Lee did not have first dibs on purchasing this land, including the driveway to the Sandy Beach in the first place. The new owners had to have known how much of an upset this would have caused the entire community of Lee...shame on them!

From what I understand, Schweitzer-Mauduit opened bidding on the property to all potentially interested parties -- including the Town of Lee, Highlawn Farm, and a group of residents on Laurel Lake -- and none of those entities wanted to buy it. I don't understand why Roger is being villified. He has purchased a piece of property and is trying to start a green energy business; and he is willing to let the public drive across his property, but he is only asking for the town's help in maintaining the road. That seems completely reasonable to me. What if Roger gets sick of all this and unloads the property to a private developer who wants to build condos or something? If some out of town developer buys that property, I guarantee that the road would be closed to the public in a New York minute.

His "green enery business" will consist of one small turbine capable of generating 8 - 12 Kw of energy, barely enough to power one average size house. Schweitzers looked at installing a turbine at the Eagle Mill to do the same thing years ago, and it was found to be a waste of money. You shouldn't take everything that this man says as gospel.

Even though the town district reps. voted to pay the $$$ for the access to the road.( 30 to 19 ) I am still urging registered voters here in Lee, to sign the petition for the town to take by eminent domain, the Laurel Dam and property at Laurel street in Lee, mass. The irresponsibility, along with the " I will do what i want, when I want " attitude, of the current owner, with no regard to the environment or for authority. It is still the main issue of the survival of our Towns Lake and its wildlife. Please ask around if there is someone that you know that might have this petition if you would like to support this effort. If you cannot find someone, there are two shops in Lee, Hats and Jewels and Wares and What-nots that you may find these petitions. Thank you all for your support.

If the Town had wanted the land and the dam they should have submitted a bid when it went up for sale! The town was notified, but chose not to participate in an open business deal!

Sorry Anne with an E,there is no way the Town can use emminent domain to take this mans land! The man owns the rights to the first twelve feet of water,he can do what he wants with it as long as he follows some rules.
