You know I am sick of everything being blamed on the oil and gas industry. Everyone must think that if you work in the oil and gas industry that you dont care about the enviroment at all, that we don't hunt, fish, camp, hike or anything out doors except drill hole in the ground and cause problems for everyone and everything. Maybe they should look at the lake not having record levels over the last few years and not beable to release enough water to wash the silt away like years before. What a cop out for these people. Sorry but it is. Thank you for your time.

Sorry but it is. Thank you for your time. Low flow is definitely a contributing factor. However, if you go to Google Earth and look at the land north and south of the San Juan just below Navajo Dam, you will see that it is dotted with well pads and has a spider web of roads. Just about the only other developments are the lodges and campgrounds near the river itself. Truth be told, the oil and gas industry is a wealthy foe of environmental protection whether it be fighting regulations to control sediment runoff, or funding junk-science organizations to deny global warming. ExxonMobil is the worst of all the big oil companies. The corporate scum that manage environmental affairs for that despicable company should be put on trial for crimes against humanity.

If you want to look at the Environmental impact from the San Juan Chama project, just take a hike down the Alameda Drain, just East of the Rio Grande! They destroyed about 2 miles of vegetation and habitat, to create that water collection plant, just South of the Alameda Bridge........It's an eyesore, for sure......As for the San Juan River, the folks who fish it, pay enough with licenses and fees. It should come down to our state, Game & Fish, the PRC, and State Parks. I can't imagine that 3-headed monster would be able to settle on anything, however!

I haven't fished that area in a number of years. It would be a shame to see it ruined.

I have been away from New Mexico for several years due to business reasons and was looking forward to returning this year. One of the main things I was looking forward to was fishing the San Juan, but from what I have read in this article I can see that the rivers value as a fishery is being destroyed. To destroy an internationally famous fishery is absurd.

Why don't you just stay in Canada and keep your nose out of our quality trout water here in New Mexico? The oil and gas industry has no right to impair this river, and we don't need any advice from industry prostitutes like you.

But the line has to be drawn when it comes to protecting the San Juan River and the monster trout that live there.

Searchers Find More Body Parts-Wednesday February 18th. There were four entries, from "JUST ME"
1.Suggested,look to the Cubans.Michelle and Cinnamon were involved with.Said "you could tell more, but not on the form."
2.Said "you knew others, who may have information." Said you "would share information with other Law Enforcement Officers." Said you suspecet "Sonya" would be identified as a victim. Said you had "Honest information as you know it, and believe it to be creditable."
3.Responded to Lady Blues'comment. "I reached out, I would just like to share my information with the family, so that they will know." I will if i can help the family"
4.Suggested family get investigators check medical records of Cinnamon Elks At U.N.M.A badly beaten prior to the disapearances-may find something there on Michelle.
What was meant by (other) Law Enforcement Officers? Which Cubans? So the family will know; What is it that you can tell us?I have thought about your words over and over. As you know they have brought Michelle and her unborn child out of the Mesa after five long years. For that her family is grateful, but there will be no relief untill we have the answer WHO DID THIS,and untill they are punished to the max.
"Just Me" you knew Michelle, she was real to you as she was to us. Not just a name or a face in the news.My guess is Cinnamon will be identified as well. Their MURDERER may never be known,if the people like you and others do not come forward with information. All the women who are rising up out of the Mesa, thier family and friends cry for justice. Those of you with information, please call the FBI or some other reputable law inforcement agentcy.Dont let the lives of ALL these women, and a baby,go unpunished

The truth is that the oil and gas industry has always been somewhat of a sacred cow with lawmakers. The industry opposes virtually all new regulations, and then usually gets a second set of rules passed just for them, typically more lenient than those for all other industries. Look at the rules for Superfund or cleanupup of leaking gas tanks, or water quality rules for just about any state with oil and gas production, and you will see either exemptions or a second set of rules for them. With their record profits, while most everyone else is suffering, who do you expect to be sympathetic to big oil? Especially now that they have funded a junk science campaign against global warming? Now that Bush is retired from the White House, things are beginning to change.

the ecosystem must be protected at all cost...there are plenty of other places to drill for oil..I agree with Lobo...we have plenty of space in Hobbs for more rigs...stay away from pristine natural resources...

Daniel in Hobbs wrote: the ecosystem must be protected at all cost...there are plenty of other places to drill for oil..I agree with Lobo...we have plenty of space in Hobbs for more rigs...stay away from pristine natural resources... We have to drill in the places where the oil and gas are found. My point is that the oil companies need to be held to stringent safeguards when they drill in sensitive areas. I have worked on well sites in the Animas floodplain where there was zero discharge of anything off the site. Controlling sediment runoff in the immediate watershed around the quality trout water in the San Juan is not rocket science, and it is not terribly expensive. The oil companies just need to be made to do it.
