No more pain at the pump: But there is concern for local producers

Full story: Farmington Daily Times

Maybe we should now bail out the local producers.I feel so bad that they won't be able to give out another bonus of my money. You guys took advantage of us just as much as the foreign countries did.Now ,bite me!!! The oil companies screwed up the economy so bad and now we are suppose to feel sorry for them?Go get in the unemployment line with the car salesmen.I just hope consumers don't fall for yet another scheme by big business and think it's okay to buy the gas guzzlers again.Learn from history people and don't make the same mistakes again.I'll just sit back and watch congress try to unravel the mess you made. The prices had nothing to do with supply and demand it was all GREED. Have fun with this one people. D.K.

Tom Dugan isn't going to be down at Daily Bread anytime soon, so just relax. The only ones who will suffer will be the workers, so don't be so smug. The Dugans, Merrions, Colemans, etc. are pretty much unaffected by economic cycles at this point. While their companies may not be making money, their bank and bond portfolios will be.

Like any other business, one needs to prepare for a "rainy day". No one but "peak oil" nuts and radical environmentalists thought the price of oil and gas would stay outrageously high for the long term. Not many thought it would go as low as it has today. But preparing for a "happy medium" price should be every companies responsibility.

My business depends on driving. The price of gasoline directly affects my bottom-line. I'm ecstatic that gasoline prices have dropped.

what ever goes around comes around! did you notice commodities have not reflected the energy price change to account for the reduction of consumer needs such as grocery items! some companies are still charging a higher retail price.
now to the crude aspect that the monopolization of the markets by only a few producers.just let mother nature takes its course and let the controlling companies go under. this is a natural cleansing process.why promote the lifespan. sometimes mankind has a habit of prolonging things.this is cold and heartless yet when the consumer is stressed with so many taxes, lawlessness, and familylife, who listens and feels our agony. i do not think america needs to tolerate this big financial mess. its not our fault, yet we pay for it on both ends of the spectrum. i will more to consume less energy and help tip the problem back to the producers.

"Means not as much profit" Poor Mr. Dugan *rolling my eyes* It will be sad to see any of the oil field workers laid off, however I am enjoying the low gas prices. Lower prices mean the working poor, which is A LOT of us in this area will be able to start making ends meet a little easier without having to pay $4.00 a gallon. I hope it continues to go down

Yeah, I must have missed the article when he was concerned that the prices was too high and making the market unstable.

Welcome to the bust cycle.

Poor Mr Dugan? he is one of the millionaires in this county. In the article it said he split several of the "BONUS" checks when the market was booming, now he wants it back. How is this? He made the money, now wants the empolyees to pay when he is not rolling in it?
THis is typical for the rich, share a little when your fat, and take alot when your not.

Aahh, poor babies! They're only gonna get a little bit rich this year. Honestly, I don't give a rip. I'm just glad they're not raping me at the pump anymore (at least for now). They need to focus on NOT cutting costs the easy way, payroll. Hopefully they can be a little more creative on cutting back and the little people can still have their jobs.

The price at the pump has not gone down as fast as it went up. The price of crude oil is still dropping, yet San Juan county gas prices are .30-.40 cents higher than Albuquerque and surrounding areas. If poor Mr. Dugan is down and out, who is making all the extra profit now? www.newmexicogasprices.com tells the true story of how we are being gouged here.

Dugan produces very little crude oil, his main production is natural gas, not gasoline. Your link does not apply to him, but the gasbuddy price map does show the difference in our vs. Alb's. It also shows how different states tax fuel.

I think this argument goes way back in time...no matter what the cost folks will always complain, that is our nature. It could be 1.00 here & .90 in Albq and people will always complain. The O&G will not last forever but how many towns will become extinct when they are gone? everything down to teachers will not be necessary when the folks have moved away with their children to where they can find jobs, this is inevitable and I dont think all these folks can work at Walmart bc who would be shopping? I for one have taken a que from my grandparents and have learned many trades as I will teach my children to be versatile, but that also means that I will go where the jobs are and when the O&G becomes a dinosaur I will be packed up and gone from Farmington in order to support my family.(Not bc I don't love it here- but out of necessity)

To Whom It May Concern:

Try using olive oil for cooking your fish during this cold season. We used to minced garlic, add the peppers, add the sprinkles of salt, and add the minced herbs to the oil for a light marinade. Warm breads and cheese. Dark wine to bring the superb flavors of the evening.

All of you need to stop crying over gas prices. If price of crude drops people get laid off. That means the unemployment rises. That means the govenrment will have to raise taxes to help the unemployed. The more taxes americans pay to the government the less the it goes back into the economy. The economy will go bust and we will all be driving covered wagons and living in anarchy.
