Satyam Computer Services Ltd (NYSE: SAY) in its typical Bureaucratic style has indefinitely delayed its 2008 Appraisal process much to the dismay of its 45000+ employees. To make matters worse the company has not even informed its employees for the reason for this delay. Attrition levels are expected to shoot up due to this. The company continues to work like a soviet era government run agency!

Markets should take note of this fact and expect satyam to loose out on talented people due to such outrageous actions. The only people who would continue to stick on would be the average folks and the top management who in any case are responsible for this disaster.

it does not affect satyam employees...they are going to get arrears from june onwards..
its a matter of time when employees get this...
coll down satyam emp...no body worries abt letters...it will come sooner or later...

When you have worked hard for full one year you have all the right to know and get your appraisal on time.
Why should you go on working as a bonded labour without any hike....
It is a shame that a company whi is making millions of profit is not passing it tio it's employees on time.

Guys no one is going to get any arrears as the company is only liable to pay the arrears only from the date on which they issue the revised letter. If the letters only will come late, no way company is going to pay any arrears to its employees.

Its utter lack of accountablity and professionalism on part of Satyam management. Its the worst cold shoulder treatment, a company can give to it employees. I mean how can you just complete the appraisal process and keep sitting on it , without feeling the need to infrom the eomplyees about the delay and reasons thereof. its disgusting to keep hearing the grapewine in the company on whats going to happen with appriasal. Its dents the moral of the employees and hence has a direct baring on the perfomace and effeciancy. Hope the the top guys are sensitive to this aspect.

Not a surprise.. considering the kind of company satyam is..
Company runs like a 'sarakaari' company.. and every employee knows this. there is no proper system in place to clarify employee doubts and questions and nothing to clearly tell the employees about processes of the company. you haave to get things done through back door jus like the good old indian govt departments.
for example- some depts clearly state that we wont respond to ur mails and we wont entertain ur fone calls... please raise a tiket.. and wen u raise a tiket it is closed without any explanations.n u r left in the lumber..
m sure no arrears.. i think the appraisal is expected in sep without arrears.. so u worked from april to sep without any raise in pay.. free of any additional cost for the company

This is not the first time satyam is doing like this. They dont bother about giving appraisals to their present employees. They are only busy in building their own empire. Though satyam share is doing good, they will not give good OPLP or BPLp or CPLP siting so many reasons. They want to build many more building in and around hyderabad except providing basic amenities to the employees.

Its true . . . our letters are awaited since april for the Management Trainees . . . only heaven knows what kind of STRATEGIC decisions these people want to take on this issue. Also the HR's dont have any proper and convincing reply to any of our queries. . . God knows when this Dilemma will end and we will get what we deserve.

They dont need to lay off. with such processes and the expected hikes the attrition will take care of the downsizing woes and they can claim that they didnt lay off. Dude they dont have to. attrition comes to their rescue in this regard..

And normally the appraisal for MTs is treated seperatly. m not sure this time it'll be treated d same way.. be ready for a jolt..
