This is getting a little silly. People are driving less, getting rid of gas guzzling SUVs and still crude oil is going up? This is clearly a case of market manipulation by big oil and commodity traders and should be investigated immediately by the Justice Department for collusion and Big Oil executives should go to jail and pay back those bloated salaries in the form of fines. Enough is enough.

Analysts are just trying to push prices hire for the hedge funds. This analyst driven volatility should be investigated since the pure facts are there is NO oil shortage.

I can't say I've seen any of these things happening. Still see one person in their 5500 lb SUV. Anyone with more than 4 cylinders have no reason to complain

This is the media reporting select and conjectural "news" items regarding a volatile commodity. The more you buy in to this nonsense, the more volatile it becomes.
This and employment figures are selected for headlining depending on what the perception will be. It goes on every election year at about this time. Who does it benefit? If I say it, you'll see it as a personal slant. Ask yourselves. Who looks bad in the light of this news? Who benefits by its selection for news. Note that I use the word "news" rather loosely, here. This really isn't news. It's speculation by a select few and reported as though it is something that has to happen.
Me? I'll wait 'til it's real news/fact and deal with it then.

Manipulation, conspiracy. Funny how the issue of supply-and-demand hardly comes up these days when it comes to discussing oil prices...

Responding to news that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the watchdog for U.S. commodity transactions, was investigating for possible oil price manipulation, legendary investor T. Boone Pickens, Jr., said:

"There's nothing to it to start with. That's not what's happened. You have 85 million barrels a day of oil available in the global energy market and 86.4 million barrels a day of demand. So the price of oil is going to go up until you can kill demand."

The CFTC's actions can be attributed to "trying to find a scapegoat and place blame for it when what you have is demand that is greater than supply," according to Pickens.

FYI, even though the U.S. economy is slowing, for every 1 barrel of reduced American demand there are 14 barrels of increased demand from developing countries like China, India, and Brazil.

So it's Ole Slorer of Morgan Stanley is the last word in market manipulation. I'd send the investigators over to his office ASAP to check on his funds..........funny how "Ole" sounds suspiciously like "Oil"!!!!!!!

I predict a drop in oil to around .49c a barrel. Did it move yet?!?!??!?!?

You are an idiot. Just because someone has a SVU they don't have the right to complain? They pay the same price at the pump that you do. Next time your fat ass gets in your car you don't have the right to complain because your car is now carrying 5500 pounds of lard ass.

T. Boone Pickens was also the major financier of Swift Boat Veterans, so he has no credibility. The man is a liar. The fact is, our system is not capitalistic; it is gamed so heavily in favor of the wealthy and powerful, it is socialism in reverse. Vote for the Repugs again and see how much worse it will get.

Some has a special victims unit? I'm not sure what you are blathering about here, but if someone has an SUV, they are just helping to fund the Saudi terrorists who attacked us on 9/11. No matter how many American flags you put on an SUV, it's still unpatriotic to drive one.

Someone please show me someone who has not gotten oil when they asked. That is a shortage not some projected demand and production figures like Investorazzidotc om

You are more of an idiot than the first guy. Do you buy gas? If so, based on your moronic theory, you are funding terrorists. I never knew patriotism came in the form of vehicle you drove. Take your left wing bs and shove it up your commie ass.

I don't know where you live, but I certainly haven't seen anyone driving less. Traffic is exactly the same as well as the number of gas guzzlers in use. I have yet to see a gas station that is empty. There are always people filling their vehicles. The only difference is that people aren't "filling up". They are filling their tanks more frequently instead.

I don't know about $15, but I seriously think by July 4th it will be close to if not over $5. The thing is people will continue to drive every where. They'll just whine more.
