This is the calm before the storm! There's a storm coming!

Naaaah! We're just experiencing the greatest recessionary period since the Great Depression, as well as the longest one since then. Employment is near early 80's levels. There's a worldwide deleveraging after a series of bubbles (tech, real estate) have burst. Massive public sector debt to the point where the largest state is on the brink of insolvency. But, hey! It's a GREAT time to buy a home, haven't you heard? |

GW Bush left this country in such a mess it will never recover. He should be banished to hell. The most stupid President this country ever had.

Be alert for the long term. This is but a wordsmithed and figure juggling ruse.
AP did not announce 1150 layoffs on top of 1300 for nothing. They are giving themselves the option. They have not yet laid off all of the 1300. I believe that they are expecting the double dip...and sometime soon. |

If you cling to single sources, you can get hosed. Widen your info search and make sure the sources are varied. Even thoen in such sources like the Huffington Post and the Daily Kos for giggles. |

1. People are ending unemployment benefits and now going into abandoned search and dropping of measurement for unemployment as done by Department of Labor.
2. Last I check, 250,000 jobs lost nationally is not a JOB gain, so it only continues to add to a bad problem. 3. How many months will losing 250,000 jobs be viewed as something positive? 4. When job gains are 250,000, how many months will it take to absorb the 40 million unemployed, those who abandoned search, part-time seeking full-time, the underemployed and new entrants into the work force. By my rough estimates, it will take 14 years to normalize out employment to skill sets due to this recession. If we are hit with another recession in the next 15 years, the US is in big trouble. There is nothing to cheer about yet. |

Bloated numbers....fuzzy math....again....ol big ears is as nuts as his dwindling followers. half a million people loser their jobs a WEEK & this idiot is playing a grinning cheerleader.

So if they predict 350,000 jobs will be lost in August, but only 325,000 disappear, this is good news and the unemployment rate is actually falling? Sounds like someone must be using a lot of stimulation drugs.

I think we'll have a bumpy ride for the next 12 months or so, then a largely jobless recovery.
Bottom line, we're just not creating new jobs fast enough. Meanwhile, we have 1.5 MM H1-B immigrants inbound, per year. Why is that happening? What is America's strategy for creating new, globally-dominant economic advantages? |
