They are throwing away $13 MILLION DOLLARS with all of the fake travel agents (RTA's) taking FAMs to recruit for the MLM setup. They are not selling travel, they are selling a way to travel like travel agents with out really being one.

YTB focuses on travel consumers who book their own travel online. That would be 85% of the population that considers the internet their "travel agent" and books their own travel online already. RC just severed a relationship with a company that would have helped them grow their business dramatically! YTB has over 120,000 reps and is growing fast! FYI- FAMs & perks are never promised or guaranteed to YTB reps.

Fake travel agent in YTB. That is really funny. I have been in YTB 8 months. I have earned well over 5k in commisions. I have earned my fams and discounts. All I have done for 8 months is train and sell travel. YTB has some of the best training. Kayla you just need to get on bord. Those of us in YTB make great money and 135,000 of x 10.(That is all our friends and family.) Do the math. You will never stop us. Many are in training. Many are very educated people. I have a 4 yr. degree. I am soon to be a master in CLIA. Beware to your words. We are a very big team. We are very close as a team. This team has a common goal. The goal is booking travel. The goal is to be number 1. We love our company YTB and each other. We love what we do! Try it, you may become the person you always wanted to be.

I applaud the founders of YTB for sticking up for our Reps. I myself book a great deal of travel and take classes continually to improve my skills. I can whole heartedly affirm that 90+% of the RTAs in YTB do not abuse the system and are very serious about their business and the relationships we have. We have some of the best training possible especially with our new E-University that was developed by none other than Marc Macini who has trained over 300,000 agents and is considered the best in the industry. Many of my close associates and myself are actively enrolled in the CLIA Cruise Academy and spend all of our spare time improving our skills. This is about a great company and a great opportunity. I have no doubt there are RTAs that abuse the privileges and I for one, think they should be censored or terminated. The majority should not suffer due to the unprofessionalism of the minority. I know this company and they will do the right thing. I think it was very unfortunate that RCI took the action they did and I do not believe that it the end it will be in anybody's best interest.

Let's not leave out the possibility that behind this chaos may be an online travel booking engine giant with lots of cash and clout feeling very threatened. As YTB agents, we do need to educate ourselves so when we are accused of being "not good enough" we will have all of the same credentials that the best travel agents have.
Remember: "If it ain't true, don't say it, if it ain't right, don't do it". Book travel and continue to give the opportunity to those who want it, and change somebody's life!

These suckers show up at a "training meeting" expecting to learn how to sell travel and all they get is hype from a bunch of fakes wearing tropical shirts who have never even traveled out of their own backyard. Coach is making all money charging idiots 50 dollars a month for a website. It's MLM for idiots, and selling travel is not promoted.

Oh yeah, I just received a nice "fake" check for $593 commission for booking a group cruise. I know more about travel than most travel agents, which was proven by how I booked my own trip to Europe online when a travel agency screwed it up.

You're obviously jealous of others' success. Get a life and join YTB!

I have been with YTB since 2004 and the way they are doing business at this point, is going to get them shut down. AG's love to shut companies down who make $ solely from recruiting which is what YTB is doing, you make more money from bringing people in then from booking travel, and yeah, yeah the more people you get the more income, a real networking company does not pay when you bring someone in but when you help them start to make money. Jack if you did not recruit anybody could you create a walk away income from just travel, I know I couldn't, and I was booking good volumes of travel. I have found a better company with a viable product, that if I recruit no one I can create a high residual income. Please get back to me in you are interested.

Apparently, you really aren't in YTB, much less been in it since 04. If you were, you would know that as of Jan 1, 08, all RTA's must book $1500.00 in travel on their site before they receive any credentials.

YTB just lost their IATA #!!!

I appreciate all YTB reps who stick up for their business as I was reading thru these posts, but as of today, IATA has yanked the only thing that makes any travel agency accredited, and that is their IATA number. Dont believe me? Go to www.checkacode.com and enter in the YTB IATA # under where it says verify an AGENCY and you will see for yourself.

WorldVentures, however offers a way to earn commissions on your travel as well as membership to an exclusive travel club called DreamTrips where we use Group Buying Power to broker trips at Whole Sale Prices.(I just went on a 5 day Carnival Cruise to Cabo San Lucas for $69)

We at World Ventures understand that this is a hard time for YTB reps who have built a strong team. We welcome you to join us at World Ventures and receive RTA & DreamTrips membership for Free right now. Contact me at Jazzyt965@yahoo.com for details. Also I will provide you with Our IATA number for your verification. But I assure you it is Active and ready to track your commissions!

Happy Traveling!!

Jazzy, your comment is a misrepresentation of the IATA credential. Granted, it's clear your using it as a circumstance to take a stab at YTB (your choice), but I'm a traditional travel agent and IATA doesn't prevent anyone (online or traditional) from selling travel or earning a commission on travel sold. The sentence that contains the phrase "Worldventures, however offers a way to earn commissions on your travel" is incorrect when comparing YTB to Worldventures. Through my affiliation with AMEX Travel, I've confirmed that the IATA suspension does not (in any way) affect YTB and it's agents ability to sell and receive commissions on travel sales.

In becoming a Travel Agent professional, don't use IATA as a reason to join one company over any other. Use: industry ranking, company profitability, training programs, management team, income/residual potential, public or private, years in business, customer service, etc. Do research including visiting each company's headquarters and rank each quality. That way you make an educated decision.

You tell her Stacy!! Seems many people are misinformed whether they are brick and mortar or online agencies. I am both brick and mortar and online. I've been in travel for 20 years and started out not knowing much more then city codes. Everyone has to start somewhere. The online agencies will not go away, more brick and mortar agencies will fall with the next round of cuts or fee the industry plans to put on us. The youth of today book online, that is fact. The sooner the brick and mortar agencies get online the better chance they have to survive.
Iata is wrong for pulling certification from YTB. There are many experienced agents in YTB and many
new agents that have no experience, but are willing to learn. To get the IATAN card you must meet
all the IATAN requirements same as the brick and mortar agencies and we know what fraud happens there.
How many agency owner’s spouses and family members have a card and don’t have anything to do with selling travel for the agency!
The people that have online agencies need to educate themselves on the industry. My YTB team teaches classes every week on a destination or a cruise line or resort. We are working to help educate the new people to the industry. Just because people have an online agency doesn't mean they don't know what they are doing. I would say 20 years in the industry gives me the right to say I AM A PROFESSIONAL TRAVEL AGENT regardless of how I work – online or brick and mortar.

Hey to all...did you hear that World Ventures has just entered into an agreement with RCI, the world's largest broker of VACATION RENTAL PROPERTIED (holding over 60,000 condos, homes, villas) around the world? This means that, in addition to having the most powerful travel search technology on the internet, World Ventures agents also now have access to an entirely new level of travel booking (rentals of private properties, not simply hotels and resorts). Wyndam RCI realizes that World Ventures is doing this right, and is outwitting their opponent, and is going to outlast them as well.
The trend toward online booking is not going to go away. This is an industry in transition; one company is going to get it totally RIGHT, and rise to the top like cream....watch WorldVentures. This company is the one....

It is really hard to believe that you are satisfied with making only 5k in 8 months. I have been with TraVerus for 5 months and have more than tripled that. Also with TraVerus you have the ability to become certified and we have a great support system.

"YTB has some of the best training" ....Uh, simply, I beg to differ..I work at a major cruise line and we all say amongst ourselves,(off the record of course) that YTB agents (as a whole) are just about the worst travel agents in reference to knowing how to book and handle their bookings from beginning to the sail date. For the most part the agents are very nice, but clueless..it's as if the YTB training consists of merely showing up for a meeting, and being told they are now travel agents and not to worry about anything, just call the cruise lines and "they" will explain everything...When you get a YTB agent on the line, we know to just take a deep breath, and it is during those YTB calls that we really can appreciate that patience is indeed a virtue!YTB agents are completely ignorant of the process. I mean we literally have to "train" them during every call, ourselves. It is extremely exasperating. So, this is why I must "strongly" disagree with your statement giving kudos to YTB training. It appears to be a joke.

Dee mentioned the influx of YTB 'agents' calling the cruise lines, etc. and trying to book travel for groups. I am a rep for World Ventures. Our company expressly FORBIDS RTA's from contacting vendors directly, because they do NOT want us 'worrying' them to death (an army of people who only have a minimal knowledge of the travel industry, at best). We DO have expert training within our company to go further and become certified in all areas; but the lowest level is the RTA and our company realizes that we have no business calling vendors directly. We have a team of booking agents in headquarters who talk with vendors, so the vendors know us by name (a few names). This is the real reason that Royal Carib. dropped YTB; they were sick and tired of these thousands of folks calling them who really do not know their business (only minimally). This is just one of the reasons (besides our Dream Trips program, and our proprietary search engine which is the strongest travel search on the internet) why we are 'out smarting' and going to 'outlast' our competition...

You're feeling ultra optimistic today, which is great for summoning up the necessary energy to do what has to be done. But don't let it go to your head and convince you that you're capable of performing miracles.
