My wife and I cruised on the Carnival Spirit from San Diego two years ago. The whole ship was full of active and aggressive kids and long lines for everything.
The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, and the people on the next cabin veranda were heavy smokers.
We were told by the travel agency that the skip had dance floors, ballroom dancing, and a live band. What we found was a postage stamp dance floor, a rude and unfriendly kid who was the D.J., and the dance floor was so crowded with kids who didn't know how to dance that any ballroom step was impossible.
It was Disco dancing; that is not real dancing, it is only a body motion. I wrote Carnival a nasty note and they did not even have the courtesy to reply.
We switched to Holland American Oosterdam and were pleasantly surprised. We will never cruise on Carnival again.
