this is what happens when you take a big dump and you don't wash your hands afterwards. some of the dump stays on your hands and when you go to the buffet line, the dump gets on everything. people, please wash your hands after touching certain parts of youu body.

you also hope that the individuals that dump and don't wash their hands, please flush the toilet unless you're on a water conservation project.

So true. I am amazed at how frequently this sort of thing happens on these cruises. Maybe there needs to be a mandatory pre-cruise reminder to all employees and passengers, followed up with signs at every doorway and in every hallway: PLEASE wash your freakin hands after you take a dump! For goodness sake, people. This is basic hygiene.

seriously, this has become a much too frequent occurence. no place like a ship hundreds of miles out to sea to start getting the cramps and runs. and to top it off, you get a discount for your next diahrea cruise.

I find it hard to believe that people do not practice personal hygiene . I allways tell my kids to wash your hands after going to the bathroom . It is just common sense.

Maybe it would be to the passangers advantage to start bring their own food to eat on the cruise and you drop the price of the cruise.

I came back from a 7 day cruise on the Costa Magica last weekend and had no problems. I noticed that everytime you get on or off the ship they give you a moist antibacterial tolette for you to wipe your hands and the also serve you on the buffet line instead of you touching the serving utensils that the person in front of you touched prior to you. I have never gotten the norovirus on a cruise but I did get it at school where I teach. If someone else has it no matter where you are at... Bingo!!! I took on the cruise my phrenegan suppositoies that my doctor gave me when I got it at school just in case. Those little bullets work wonders.

Hey Barbie Doll, the hygenic standards on board these vessels are instituted and closely monitored by the FDA, who conducts monthly suprise inspections on EVERY cruise ship with over 1000 passengers. Also, to work onboard ANY ship owned by a US company, you must legally be able to work in the United States and carry a valid passport. Additionally, background checks are conducted on all employees on a rolling order twice annually. A CDC study last year found that over 90% of norovirus cases were caused by improper hygiene by the guests on board the vessels. If you don't know what you speak of, perhaps you would better serve the community by keeping your mouth shut. Limo Barbie wrote: Food poisoning, plain and simple. This is what happens when you hire third-world refugees to work in your kitchen. They know DICK about hygiene since they are used to digging through garbage for their food.
