I worked for Eckerd for 3 years and quit during the Rite Aid integration process. It is no shock to me seeing this happen to Rite Aid. They treat all of their associates and managers like garbage. The last raise Rite Aid gave me was 20 cents, and now they are trading at 20 cents a share lol. I've been telling some of my former coworkers that are still there to get out as soon as they can. I've been at CVS for less than a year now, and I'm making about 3 bucks more an hour than when I left Rite Aid, and due for my annual review soon.
Rite Aid does suck. I only have one Change to that. "rite aid SUCKS" They only care about their personal pockets. They don't even care about the stock holders. If they did, they wouldn't be ready to be kicked off the NYSE. There are too many big dogs that get 90% of all the earnings. If the associates made more money, they would value their jobs. The current case is, "you can't threaten me with a low wage, garbage, unappreciated job where I get abused everyday. I don't get paid enough to take all this. I'm out of there ASAP!

What do you say about Rite Aid? The DM's run all the stores, and the managers are treated like pee-ons. We can't even make simple decisions without asking permission. Where I live, the DM's were not even good managers. Promotions aren't based on merit. It's no wonder they are having such a hard time. I agree with messedover, that they need to let the managers be managers. We can't even promote our own people. Bullsh*t.
So true, I was in trouble constantly with my DM,(unprecedented) no one is perfect, but keep record so they can give you a bad evaluation or extra fuel to terminate you......I wasn't waiting for that!

I am currently a rite aid employee as I have been for 9 years now, sad huh! It's pathetic that I work with people who have been with the company for 30 years and make the same amount of money! Rite aid truly takes advantage of all of their employees, I am a front end manager and feel like I have no power when it comes down to simple problems. Rite aid makes it so difficult to ever complete all of the things they ask of a store with the pathetic amount of hours they provide. Do I think this company sucks, YES!!! But remember when everyone says things like they deserve to be unemployed, think about the little people like me who deserve to work, who have put their sweat and tears into their work. We have not created this problem, and do deserve a pay check to pay our bills and feed our family. The people who are higher up and dreaming up imposable results deserve to not be working with the company!!! I truly hope the company can pull through for the sake of my families well being!!
I feel your pain... it is not sad that you have been there 9yrs, it is called dedication....sweat and blood. Where does it get you? They treat you like it is your first day on the job.

Rite Aid is in a very bad situation. They are terminating DMs, PDMs and Managers, so the Company does not have to pay its part of the Unemployment.Thier products suck, and always out of date. The shelves are always empty, and dirty.Customer service is the worst. One of Thier former customers Recently told me that,She contacted the regional manager to help her order a product, The Regional manager never Responded.

Recently rite aid laid off several assistant managers who rite aid claimed to be underperforming. I was with the company for several years. My first store manager was nice and understood what needed to be done. After he transferred, this tyrant store manager that took his place just use us and abuse us. He had no feelings for anyone but himself. He gave me a horrible evaluation claiming I was underperforming. If rite aid needed to cut back on expenses, it should notified its employees about it versus giving false evaluations just to eliminate the high paying managers. They should of lay off the these lazy dms that don't know what they are doing. If they do file for bankruptcy, rite aid deserves it. A horrible company. The even send a replacement wellness plus card ( customer version) for those who lost their jobs. We were getting a 20 percent discount when we had our employee discount card. What on earth rite aid would think that we would still shop there when they laid us off. Get a reality check rite aid!!!
