I really hate to see this happen to Rite Aid, but they need to get rid of DM's that don't know how to run a business. Bottom line, allow a manager to be a manager, It's all about making money. Get rid of useless higher ups that just make a ton of money for doing nothing. Cut the greedy pigs salary to a reasonable amount.......... I think you get the picture!

I totally agree. Also, Rite Aid is first and foremost pharmacy, get some higher up that understand the pharmacy business! Rite Aid front store cannot compete with the likes of Walmart....

You know, I can see your bitterness, but there are many co.s out there with the same problem. I hate to see anyone lose their job, I just would like to see the "pigs" reduced to a reasonable amount and business run like a business should be!!

You are absolutely right. I was in front end management and it was ridiculous the amount of stuff they give you to do to be in what they considered compliance. If it were run properly and managers were really allowed to use their talents instead of somebody somewhere with a cup of coffee in front of their computer dreaming up crap to try and prove they have a job. Sorry about the (run-on). Front end can still make money, and they could make more right now if they would cut back on waste ie: backhauls, damages

I used to work for this company for many years its a hard job tremendous work load, minimal payroll and very high expectations. I did a great job but moved on mgrs are abused, pharamasists with one tech if so much, the added stress of the 800 number ask for 5's .crazy bonus structure, really long hours, my opinion the mgrs need a union. i wont recommend this company to anyone. it can be seen their stock is .37 thats so terrible all of the managers and pharmasists should be moving on to other companies because they will fall just an fyi i moved on already.

I worked for Rite Aid for 7 years first in the pharmacy as a tech. then moved up front to be a manager. The upper management of this company is a joke. There are all to many store managers that would rather spend there alloted 50 hours per week sitting on there rump then actually doing anything, but then it seems the managers that work there rump off for this company get harped on. It makes no sense and they deserve to go out of business for being so horrible at running a company, a partially trained monkey could do better. However i do hate to see people loose there jobs when its not thier fault that this company is going down hill, i have alot of fellow co-workers that i feel really bad for because they are hard workers and do not deserve to be unemployed. I just wish i could get all of them on with me at Walgreens which by the way is an incredible company to work for.

Good for you, ask for all 5s is ridiculous. I remember a mgr getting fired because he was calling them in himself. I agree, bad program.....People find it easy to complain and difficult to compliment. With all of the office junk they expect you to do you can not work on the sales floor or take care of the customers properly. Then the dm will come by and write you up for the store being a mess!

This is a sleazeball corporation that demolished the entire National Register Historic District in Morgantown, PA, to build a store that will never make a dime. Serves 'em Rite. I will celebrate the inevitable demise with gusto.

I worked for Rite Aid nearly 20 years and left them b/c I gave a partial fill prescription to a customer while their questions on the prescription were being researched, upper management didn't agreed with my professional judgement. Todays its stock is .31 cents a joke. Company will go bankrupt in 2009 thats what they have to look forward to the new yr. I suggest all pharmacists and managers look elsewhere for employment.

It is one thing to destroy a company through mismanagement and incompetence; it is quite another to destroy a historic town's historic past and unique identity through sheer unmitigated greed, and callous, shameless disregard.

I have seen this day comming.I was in fl when the Rite Aid stores WOB.No one cared. This is a company with big dreams, holes in thier pockets, cheap and abusive with their labor force and take the customer for granted. They come into town, buy out the independents and give the ones they buy out a job for a year. Then there gone.Like the song says....Run to the hills.Run for your lives. This tarin ride of Rite Aid is over. They think they have positioned theselves for a buy out from CVS.That may be the case.
What FOOLS YOU IN CAMP HILL YOU BE.
The end is near.Sell out to Dwayne Reed or someone else while you can.Your stores will be sold at a sheriffs sale. All your workers out of work.

What do you say about Rite Aid? The DM's run all the stores, and the managers are treated like pee-ons. We can't even make simple decisions without asking permission. Where I live, the DM's were not even good managers. Promotions aren't based on merit. It's no wonder they are having such a hard time. I agree with messedover, that they need to let the managers be managers. We can't even promote our own people. Bullsh*t.

I am currently a rite aid employee as I have been for 9 years now, sad huh! It's pathetic that I work with people who have been with the company for 30 years and make the same amount of money! Rite aid truly takes advantage of all of their employees, I am a front end manager and feel like I have no power when it comes down to simple problems. Rite aid makes it so difficult to ever complete all of the things they ask of a store with the pathetic amount of hours they provide. Do I think this company sucks, YES!!! But remember when everyone says things like they deserve to be unemployed, think about the little people like me who deserve to work, who have put their sweat and tears into their work. We have not created this problem, and do deserve a pay check to pay our bills and feed our family. The people who are higher up and dreaming up imposable results deserve to not be working with the company!!! I truly hope the company can pull through for the sake of my families well being!!

I worked for Eckerd for 3 years and quit during the Rite Aid integration process. It is no shock to me seeing this happen to Rite Aid. They treat all of their associates and managers like garbage. The last raise Rite Aid gave me was 20 cents, and now they are trading at 20 cents a share lol. I've been telling some of my former coworkers that are still there to get out as soon as they can. I've been at CVS for less than a year now, and I'm making about 3 bucks more an hour than when I left Rite Aid, and due for my annual review soon.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Leo

This is one of those days when money slips through your fingers in no time at all unless you're very vigilant about your spending habits. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to stop yourself splashing out whenever the fancy takes you, whether or not you can afford it. You're especially drawn to tempting little treats and luxurious indulgences.
