The label on Aquafina water bottles will soon be changed to spell out that the drink comes from the same source as tap water, the brand's owner PepsiCo said Friday.

So since these companies are ripping everyone off, just get a filter and do it yourself.

I fill up my 5 gallon water jugs at Weiss\Kings..30 a gollon,$1.50 for five! Cheaper than a 20oz bottle of the brand names.

* .30 a gallon that is.

Sounds like Fish from Quakertown has the right idea. Thanks for sharing that information. |

The purified drinking water game has always been a rip-off. Why does the same water that is used to make soda cost just as much (sometimes more) as the soda itself? Imagine if the beer makers did this!

Aquafina has always said purified on the label. It never said spring water like Poland Springs or Deer Park. Disani is also purified - run through a filtration system and has minerals added for taste. With all of the label readers out there, why wouldn't you know this before you buy it?
|
I don't buy it, and if I want "purified" municipal water, I can run it thru my pur filter or my Culligan filtered pitcher. people do not realize that municipal water must undergo rigorous testing on a constant basis, it is already fit for drinking, what Aquafina and Dasani do is simply overkill. |

You are welcome! Many supermarkets have water filling stations. Weiss I konw has it outside, you pull up, and fill your jugs from one gallon and beyond. I think, but am not sure, that Giant has it too, only it is inside the store better double check though. |

what is the bid deal? Aquafina never clamed to be a natural spring water. It says purified drinking water right on the front of the lable. so does Dasani. What about Ice Moutain water all they do with that is bottle it and filter it, it comes right out of a tap in either Greenvill, Michigan or Evart, Michigan. Just because it has a squiggily line on the lable doesn,t mean it comes from a moutain stream. do you want water from a moutain stream okay enjoy all the animal pee that is in there. What about Evian from the french alpes have you ever been to france. that place is nasty people peeing in public garbage everywhere umm give me so french water. no thanks puke. you people that are complaining about this just drop it. you are only angry because you were so stupid to think that it was from a natural spring. this pig controversy about aquafina being from the tap well guess what before that it came straight out of the detroit river at least in Michigan. if you have ever seen the detroit river you know that thing is nasty with its brown water and three eyed mutated fish bu you loved it the. guess what you still love it now it is the number one selling water in the united states. just because it is tap doesnt meant that it is the same as the water from your sink. do you have a reverse osmosis chamber at your house, do you pump nitrogen in to you water at home, how about an infared laser to kill bactieria, or a carbon filtration chamber. i didnt think so. well guess what these are al steps in aquafinas hydro 7 filtration system. so drink up and shut up.

Dan, you need to get your facts right. Ice Mountain is not purified water. It is spring water, drawn from springs and aquifers in Evart or behind the plant, not from a 'tap' as you say. You drink what you want and keep your off guided opinions to yourself until you verify the facts. |

Aquafina is bottled near palmerton... next to the ZINC pile... right before the carbon county fair site.. .. the water comes from mountain rd siite.. there is not problem here.. oh except the bottling is done on a suprefund site... no BFD

Sodium Flouride has been proven in small amounts to make humans docile, and easy to control. It was given to prisoners of war in WW2 for this reason. It wiggled its way into Americas drinking water when doctors said it is good for your teeth (which is a lie, they don't care about their teeth).
People who support drinking tap water might think they are doing good, by helping the environment because of the trash and pollution put into making bottled water. Unfortunitly they are sadly misguided, the tap drinking water is plain unhealthy. Sorry Fish but your being silly, how is having pure water an overkill; humans are 90% water I know I want to put the purest water I can into myself which is often Aquafina. |

Sodium floride may be important to dentists, they care about teeth. Anyway, that is some interesting info about ingesting enough SF to make one slightly "sick". SF is overrated, it is needed in stages of adult tooth development, but later on, that's questionable. SF is proven, however to help reduce cavities, topically just don't injest your toothpaste, but what is the real differential cost to one's health? FYI: Many toothpastes have lauryl sulfate or some form, the same crap that irritates skin found in most shampoos and soaps, gives new meaning to the threat of washing one's mouth out with soap.
SF in drinking or tap water is just plain stupid. If SF wasn't found in water really to begin with WTF would you add it?? The US has been behind the times with making improvements and adapting to change. Like just because Sodium floride was hot at one point, doesn't mean we should go by the same standards from 1950 of dumping it in the tap water, after finding out that this is unproductive to health. For instance if we know that sodium lauryl sulfate is an actual irritant used in labs to test adverse reactions on animals and humans skin in order to test the outcome of a "damage control" product, i.e. skin cream, well? |
