I just lost all respect that I ever had for her. What a joke. She should try learning the history of rap instead of being totally ignorant. And I thought the Govt put AIDS out there to kill all the black people anyways?????

What a great excuse for the loser part of the black population to take no responsability for their actions.

Two quotes
"'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other.'Gangsta rap' didn't exist."
and then the jewelry...
"to symbolize strength, power and killing 'em dead."

If it was a ploy, it looks like it worked.
BTW, Who is 'em?

Well--I was okay with her before but now I don't care or even like her anymore.

She should just keep her mouth shut and concentrate on being an artist.

I wonder what her mother is thinking right now?

It amazes me that someone so talented and seemingly bright could believe in such conspiracy theories. It's thought like this that maintains the divide between the black and white communities. Even if there was any truth to her wild accusations it dumbfounds me that she would buy into it by acting and speaking in such a way that only encourages exactly what she seems to be against. It's confusing and irrational.

Ahh another idiot celeb stating a bunch of bullcrap. I never cared for her much to begin with (I prefer Rock&Roll) but in my opinion she just basically pulled a Laryn Hill (Fugees).

Sounds to me like she has been going to church with Hussien Obama. Maybe he should put her on his staff, if she isn't already. I can't wait to see what kind of racist crap will spew from her mouth next.

I learned a couple of things on topix this week.If you mention these words then you are automatically talking about white people.I guess there are only whote people in small towns and the government.

Goverment = white people
small town = white people

The main thing I think about her statement is that she just didnt think before she spoke. Its sad for alot of folks believe they know the difference between Rap- Hip Hop (including Gangsta Rap) and Urban Music you hear on the radio nowdays. From NWA and Public Enemy- I think they would beg to differ with her statement.

A prime example of "your mind on drugs." Clearly this bimbo has too much snow up the nose. She is probably a church member of jeremiah wright and his gospel of sub-sarahan African American hate. But of course her sista Bouncy has already said that she doesn't make music for white people; i'm sure she meant white American people. This idiot is another example of why the National Education Association is in fact anti-education because they support giving people like Keys a dipolma or degree just for showing up. I wonder if Keys was really named for the amount of dope she would smoke in a weekend. I understand that she is going to start performing the pole dances she is famous for and her jeremiah wright gospel hours at Osama Obama fund raisers. Here is a person that has the means to do so just like the sleeze Oprha and that racist model naomi Campbell, so why don't the return to their beloved sub-saharan motherland like they profess they love so much? We had two CD's of hers here but they're going in the trash after I get off the machine and we and the kids will never have any more. Oh, and yeah. Osama bin-Obama b.s. apologies don't mean dung.

"Keys also said that the feud between Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing."
Oh yes, I can see it now: Booker T. Washingon, Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King, Malcom X, and Notorious B.I.G., all mentioned in the same sentence together as great black leaders. Give me a break!

Let me get her argument straight - the same people who are in charge of our roads and schools can plan something as complicated as an entire genre of music for political gain?

Oh, yeah I can see how everyone can believe this idea was developed under the Clinton administration and kept alive by the Bush administration.

Get ready - there'll be more.

Did any of you hear her say this just because it is in print does not mean she said it. The way the print press like to print what is going to get the must out of the readers.

uhhh, just for the record, Public Enemy is not the gangsta rap she was referring to.

I also think you may not have understood her comments and are taking them out of context. Alicia Keys is an extraordinary artist who is very successful.

I still love her after her statements.
