My son-in-law has netflix via a Samsung Blue Ray Player. I've checked out several such devices and the reviews are very mixed. The problem seems the great reviews (given a 5 rating) are not greater than the poor ratings (given a 1 rating).
I really don't care if the device is a DVD player or not. I basically want something to connect thru my wireless router than I can then view on my HDTV (which has an extra HDMI input).
I would like to hear from some of you who have gone thru several devices before finding the "perfect" one. I'm assuming you guys are users and many are using the wireless router route to show your netflix movies on your HDTV.
Any help is appreciated.

I tried several devices and ended up just getting a desktop computer for netflix and other online movies. I am using a wireless adapter. In fact I am typing this on my living room 42 inch tv while sitting back in the recliner :-)
I found that the devices were limited as to where you can get your movies, a bit slow to update and had other issues.
I have the computer on my home network where I can view movies and such from other computers and external drives.

As a first pass thru, I'd like to keep the system somewhat simpler meaning a wireless router, some type of interface and my hd tv with hdmi input. I may have to fall back to a computer but I haven't given up on the simpler approach yet.

I agree with the computer approach - a computer is a simple approach compare to setting up most devices. and your searches are not limited like they are with most devices. I did the same, picked up a 298 dollar computer that has hdmi, getting hd shows - when my isp is not slowing my speed down.

Let's look at the computer approach. I assume I need a computer with an HDMI output and wireless. Do you guys have any suggestions for the "inexpensive computer"???

Thanks for your help. I have actually bought a Roku 2XD Streaming Video Player and it seems to work well.
