But the economy is awful and corparations are evil and there are no good jobs in Franklin County. Whew! Got that off my chest.

Grove seems to be doing well since the purchase by Manitowoc. I knew of another company purchased by them and they kept the facility open & producing.

We are blessed to have a few larger manufacturing facilites in our area that support numerous local shops & businesses.

I wish we would see manufacturing jobs increase. and attract more manufacturers to our area. I think this would be much better than warehouses.

The "big" show (Conexpo) was last week in Vegas - I wonder how our local fellows made out. If you want to see something amazing, take a trip to Vegas to see this display. You'll have to wait 3 years. I was there last time, it makes you feel good to see the local company holding its own.

I guess the new "slotting" process is helping the company in the expansions. While they hurt the employees by putting them in a bracket based on their knowledge of their positions, some who have just started are making the same as those who have been there for over 5 years and trained them to do their jobs, its also affecting those who have been there 20+ years! And not to get off of the subject but what about the amount of safety going on there... while pushing for production how many have been hurt AND killed... one was life lined from there a few weeks ago, but that didn't make the news did it...

See, I knew they were evil.
