"Walgreens executives give no signs they will try to negotiate a new deal with Express Scripts and said Walgreens will weather the storm with cost cutting and going after new business." This paragraph alone is indicative that these dopes just don't get it --- "weather the storm with cost cutting". yeah, right, sure

How are you guys "going after new business?" Has your district made you do anything new? Did they ask you to try to trickle in a few dollars here and there to make up for the BILLIONS lost to ESI? We're suppose to come up with new ideas to make the company more? I though that's what our leaders up top were getting paid the millions to do. We're only suppose to execute those ideas, not come up with them. We're suppose to go out of the store, pound the pavement and seek out new customers? When we work with a skeleton crew? And soon to be lower paid unqualified staff? Get real Wasson. Lets see you take a pay cut first.

Its 5th grade math. We were getting 50 cents out of a dollar. Now express offers 30 cents out of a dollar. Take the 30 cents or take 0? Although this is just on example it doesn't take much smarts to make this decision right? Our millionaire, so called leaders couldn't make the right call. Pretty sad!!! Now us workers are taking pay cuts, hour cuts and suffering the majority of the blow while our leaders are still smelling like coffee and donuts behind theirs desks. Put yours scrubs on and come feel the pressures that we are all feeling!!!

WHAT THEN OH RIGHT!!!!!! filling for a loss...

The pharmacy personnel should have taken a pay cut not including the techs some make over a hundred grand an yr. and at the minimum 50 dollars a hour you went to school I understand you have student loans so due I but that much money to fill prescriptions not good they don’t pay that much in hospitals.

"so due I" , with grammar like that your logic must be rock solid.

Walgreens "vows rebound". Sounds like a team down 3-0 in a best of 7 series.....
Remember what Wasson said- "we'll be fine".

I heard today that MEDCO patients are getting letters telling them they cannot go to Walgreens after 6/15/12.

I can confirm this, I have a friend with Medco and he got one of these letters. The whole thing is such a disaster, with each passing month I'm more and more grateful for getting laid off. I feel sorry for what you employees will have to deal with in the coming year...

How much revenue will they lose? Also, I saw an article that said Express Scripts are ready to renegotiate with Wag. Any truth to that one?

I wondered when this was going to start. George Paz of Express Scripts had said some Medco clients would be leaving "shortly" but did not elaborate on this subject.
I know some people with Medco in different states. I will check with them.

I hunted on liine and can not find anything. This would be the end of us!! Stock would drop, we could then be vulnerable to a buy out.

I'm not surprised this may happen. With wASSon in charge, he has continually worked hard to sink the company. Mission accomplished!

I got a question has another "billion" dollar company like us Walgreens, Target, Wal Mart, CVS told Express Scripts NO? I mean seriously. Has anyone of standing joined us. Or are we just alone?

Everything that has happened has been coming even before ESI. My question is, when we lose medco also (and we will), what happens when our CVS/Caremark contract is up? I dont know about you but if I were CVS I would view this as a great opportunity to put the dagger in and twist it. Give us the same ultimatum as ESI and watch us go down the drain.

Basically through the loss of ESRX and Medco, WAG is losing 40% of their RX business, how they expect to regain even part of this the big question. Especially since those RX transfer checks are probably a thing of the past, with the $7.9 million settlement.

Or are we just alone? Other companies have said that they "support" the effort, but Walgreens is the only significant company to do anything. I'm sure CVS and Rite Aid won't follow and are enjoying having customers delivered to them on a silver platter.

at least facebook and wag now have the same stock price. if esi is as smart as they appear, they would do nothing but offer a complete lowball offer to wag. they have nothing to lose and everything to gain. sinking ship here folks time to eliminate all overlapping districts, market positions and 40-50% of corporate that have overlapping responsibilities.
