Well, I for one believe my kids will go to college.

You all say you want to protect my kids, What about your own?? You must not think your kids will be well or ALIVE to attend college but you continue to live here?? If I thought for on second that my kids were in danger like you do, I would be fighting my cause while living in Beckley, not on this river!!

You are the one being REDICULOS!!

Well hell imagine that! Those people in the trees
have internet access to read their tree hugging buddies posts.I guess they could with a lap top by some outside chance. But won't they have to recharge it sometime with coal produced electri-
city? Somebody fill me in,because I'm just a bull
dozer operator on a WV surface mine.

Since when did you become a doctor. I have lived on this river my whole life and I'm in perfect health. Oh, and by the way, I went to Marshall University and ended up earning two degrees. So put that in your pot bong and smoke it!

I agree that mining activities need to be closely watched and regulated--mining has gone a long way to being environmentally-friendly and contributing to nearby communities or those within the same watershed. I work in permitting for these mines--what these companies have to go through in order to retrieve the coal that lights our homes is incredible. Perhaps if environmentalists are so concerned about what these companies are 'getting away with', they should actually become employed at a consulting firm or the State and try to make a difference in a productive manner, rather than through propaganda and protests. We need coal, there's no way around it yet--so try to make the best of it.
