Do not sign anything.

Do not answer any questions until they put them in writing-if they comply take the questions to a lawyer or a person who can advise you, tell your employer that you will be taking the questions to a lawyer. You will probably not be under arrest but if you are ASK for a lawyer. Say NOTHING. Be polite but firm.

Ask them if they are actually accusing you of stealing

Either way you will probably be fired, however your future will not be helped if there's a signed confession on record with the employer.

Do not panic, I don't care if you are guilty or not, that's not my reason for this post, I do care that your rights as the accused are protected.

Hahahahah! Thanks for the ambulance chaser tips.*rolls eyes*

If you're caught stealing, you WILL be fired. Doesn't matter if you want to sign anything or have a lawyer vet whether you "really" stole anything. You WILL be caught and blacklisted.

Yeah, and I was responding to let "the accused people" know that there is no defence to stealing.

I thought you said somewhere that you were in law school. Maybe it was someone else, of COURSE there's always a possible defense even if the accused IS guilty. My point is that NO ONE should EVER give a signed confession. EVER!That confession will be on record for the life of the company, and while I do not know the laws of Canada in MY country, America, the accused is protected by a little piece of paper called the CONSTITUTION, accused does NOT mean guilty, as in the case of the child molester who works as a manager at McDonalds, I too noted that the poster did not say CONVICTED.I don't understand why my advising a person of their legal rights would get you into such a state.Don't accuse someone of a crime and you have nothing to worry about. It's that easy!:)

BTW, UK, it's clear to me that I may be talking to two people, one in the US and one in Canada, your response to the benefits questions gave it away. In Canada, a country that practices the best of socialism, no one has to worry about health care benefits. Must be nice. (god, for all I know there's 27 of you out there in cyberland..hence the number)

Let me make easy for you in fewer syllables.

I am not sure that Unknown27 is only one person, it seems that two or more people are writing from the UK27 account. One either works at Mcdonalds or has a parent who works there.

Your location and your own posts indicate that you are in Canada, why would someone have to sign up for health care benefits in Canada?

People steal for a variety of reasons, sometimes they steal because they are hungry. A person in Law School, IF the law school is any good, should be prepared to argue either side of the story. Online Law Schools don't count, btw.

The manager in SC who was indicted for child molestion was never convicted according to the Original Poster so I was giving you (UK27) props for your response.

If you don't remember the post that I was referring to then perhaps you're responding thru a booze infused haze, you just answered the poster again.

I certainly am one person...

How did this come up? This is completely irrelevant to anything we were discussing.

However, people still need health care benefits because health care still costs money in Canada...

Hunger is not an excuse for theft.

UK27 petulantly asks:

I respond:

You don't think I'd be foolish enough to respond to your posts without reading a few of your previous comments, do you? It's here, in this forum and in your words. A poster wanted to know if he would receive health care benefits you answered "if he signed up for them". Why would a person need to sign up for something that the government already provided? IOW, you answered as an American would answer, not a Canadian.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Capricorn

You're keen to look on the bright side of things and to ignore anything unpleasant or worrying. That's fine, provided that you're ready to face up to life's difficulties again tomorrow. But it's not such good news if you persist in looking the other way whenever a problem presents itself, especially if it's connected with your work or health. It may be time to face a few facts, Capricorn.
