i just started my training today... and i wud say it was the my first and worst job in a fast food joint... some trainers expect you to know everything by heart just the first minute ! i wish the management would appoint a very thorough and patient trainer (who doesnt forget his/her own training time !!) at one time i felt like crying.... i also would suggest to train a newby when it is not a rush hour, and NOT treating the trainee like stupid and idiot will help boosting the trainees confidence and learning speed....

i started my orientation today, a couple of staff working really helped and were nice but, some were really disrespectful, i guess what mcsonalds should do is teach the senior/trainers to respect the new trainees, lot of qualified people have had different type of working experience, have worked in different kind of companies, totally different from fast food joints etc. so it takes time for every job to be done... without looking or being treated like a fool... and i really feel that this treatment discourages even the smartest of trainee !

All employees are required to abide by the Code of Conduct. If you felt harassed or discriminated against then that needs to be reported to a Manager and the offending person(s) should be suspended immediately.

well thanks unknown27, but i guess this code of conduct is only in books or in the companies where the management knows whats happening. But what i saw here was lack of coordiantion betweeb the managers/supervisors. i quit on the second day of my orientation ! because the main manager,'physically a mature woman' BUT who doesnt even know the meaning of maturity !! she insulted me in front of 20+ customers! i was so emberrased, the fact is that afterwords she talked to me as if the fault was of the customers! she acted all encouraging in front of the other employees but when she talked to me alone, she was totally different!! I am in my late 30s and though i have girlish looks i have enough working experience to handle people but this one just went over the top !! i will never think of working in a mcdonald again.

i had the opportunity of talking to other staff and came to know of the managers' treatment stories but no one complains becoz they need their jobs and i understand that but i guess this is destroying mcdonalds image and only the most desperate are working with it. If any of the mcdonalds senior mgmt. staff wanted to improve this kind of situations then they should be reading blogs like these ones and try to find out whats actually happening under their noses. i always wondered why mcdonald employees have such moron face impressions, if they smile at customers it is only for few seconds, and i have never once seen a very happy face, NOW i understand very well !!

for me and many others for whom prestige and self respect comes before money, i would rather be treated with respect than paid well. believe me i had heard similar horror stories of working in mcdonald from some who had worked there but myself being a hard working and happy person, i never once thought that i would not be able to handle it, and here i am ! quit on the second day of my orientation!!

I start today, its was kinda complicated but when you get the hang of it it is super easy. hate when costumer change their mind when you already check the order or when they want special order. your paying 1 dolaar for your meal and you still want special treatment lol

I have been working at mc.donalds for 10 months and just got trained on counter it is alote easier because I already know alote from being in grill and I'm usually really good at things like this. But I could understand people's difficulty with the till mostly because there is a way more logical way of setting up the software to make it less dificult to remember. I personally had no problem and picked it up right away cause I'm a faster learner then most people but any one who is having trouble should just take it a little slower and worie about getting orders more precise and worry about speed later. Btw if you have not tried to take someone's order dont make rude comments there is a lot of pressure in being good and exspesualy when there is a huge line and every on seems to be waiting for you
