I just started at mcdonalds and am hoping to find a cheat sheet and or some images of the screens. If anyone knows of any please poste the links, thank you.

P.S. It would be cool ifs there was a register software program that you could practice on your pc.

The till programming information can be found through your store. All stores have a recommended layout, but individual stores may be slightly different due to menu variances. Talk to your crew trainer and they can direct you to some good training materials.

I know there is more to it - but you would think it was rocket science. I miss the days of young high school students who did not care much doing the job. At least you left with something close to your order.
I worked at a similar job when I was 15 - really it is that simple. The hard part is dealing with the people.

just started working there and they have the most complicate touch screen registers, i am a people person and love that aspect of it but cannot get the register down.
for you guys who think its that easy you should try taking someones order once...
"yes i would like a jr.chicken grilled on chelata bread extra cheese no pickels no onignons extra mc chiken sauce made like a mac"
ok (the menu might aswell be in chiness"
i ring everything in.
"oh actually, come to think of it i would like it as a meal"
have to restart everything.
you pay. i write in how much.
then actually you found change.
i have to cancell everything and restart and be worried that my till wont be exact later.
i wish it were as simple as "clicking on the picture of the "hamburger"

Yes - I guess that was a little mean of me. Anytime you enter the human aspect into things they can be difficult.
Where I live the people barely speak english which makes it frustrating.

Even though the grill you said wasn't possible, it's certainly going to take you a while to get used to the tills and what the customer says. It'll take you a while to get used to it :)

Oh my god I just started working there, and this last two days I've been working on the register, The most crazy and impossible thing ever, I still don't get why does it has to have so many buttons. I don't actually eat at Mcdonalds but I thought that people only went there for the happy meal or the BigMac, Its stupid and exhausting, I just hope that they change the software or something to make it a little bit easier,

What do the tills you're looking for look like? They've always been fairly easy to get the hang of - colour-coded buttons, specific categories, etc. What aren't you understanding?

There are multiple versions of the POS system. How your system software is set up depends on which POS you have, as well as whether you have par, panasonic, ibm, or olivetti registers, what region you are in, if you are a corporate store or a franchise (owner opperators can modify the software to add, delete, and move menu items as they see fit) Also, some platforms like the "NewPOS" use pictoral icons (press the button that looks like a cheeseburger) and others use abreviations (HAM, DBL, MAC) Unfortunantly, the best training on how your register system works is right there on your front counter.

omg i started working there last year in may and i get so nervous everytime i do something b/c i get so scared of doing things wrong. i kinda hate working there. when working there its when you start to notice how crabby some people can really be! and trust me oldgies are the worst people to take orders from. they always get pissed off. advice: try not to make mistakes on their orders. i really want to find a cheat screen too! i've been searching but can't find anything.

There are no pictures on our computers. There is, however, a LOT of shorthand on it.
It DOES take some time and training ;) Remember, practice makes perfect.

I just started at McDonald's today. The register is pretty tricky, all the abbreviations an such... i do hate when you have to click GRILL and personalize their meal and then they change their mind!!! LOL but i really loved my 1st day and i cant wait to go back tomorrow!

You will get it - just be nice to the crappy customers and they will be patient if it takes you a second

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Libra

It's one of those difficult days when anything can and will happen. Someone you were relying on might let you down, plans could be changed at the eleventh hour or a machine could go on the blink. To make matters worse, your energy levels are very erratic, so you feel full of beans one minute and ready to go to sleep the next. Don't make the situation worse by eating foods that give you a high followed by a slump.
