His apology isn't as lame-ass as I expected, which makes the cynic in me believe it was scripted by the airline.

He has been reinstated but for health reasons hasn’t worked since his comments surfaced last week. <-- for health reasons?... did someone punch him in the face for what he said? I am kidding, but this was an odd sentence.

Of course it was scripted I am sure they told him its your job or apologize and besides big companies like this hate to loose money in a suit.

Even a forced, insincere apology still mean someone made him apologize. And he might have meant it; we all have nasty stereotypes and insult comics bouncing around in our skulls. Southwest is not a homophobic organization by any standard definition, imo.

While that might be true on the surface, a pilot so comfortable making such bigoted statements while on the job, and to a co-worker nonetheless, hints at there being a culture where such comments are tolerated. I would be fired from my job in a New York second if I made even one of the comments he did. The fact that this pilot got away with a suspension is surprising to me, but then again, he has been with the airline for twelve years...

Of course the language goes to the Southwest legal department before it is released. And while you may not be satisfied that he wasn't fired, it's not like a pilot is as easily replaced as a file clerk. To get hired by an airline like Southwest required a gazillion flight hours and years and years of experience. Even Oxydipshit is correct that SW is not considered a homophobis company, but you guys would know that better than I.

Regarding whether his apology was sincere or not, as with Tracy Morgan, it is a sign of some progress that he was forced to apologize. I think this speaks more to the question of his sincerity. The pilots' union is pretty powerful. It appears the pilot had to take a medical leave of absence. Whatever that actually was about, it shows he definitely felt some sort of stress or repercussions from his behavior. Think what it will be like for him to board planes to pilot from now on with all the female flight attendants over, say, 25, and all the gay male flight attendants looking at him.... Semi pariah status.

The pilot in question should have kept his politically incorrect opinons to himself, for his own good at least. I agree with his sentiments. Today's old hag and male flight attendants are a far cry from what one saw 40 years ago. Too bad Southwest --all airlines--can't make a step back in that direction. Flying would be a lot more enjoyable.(Well, at least easier on the eyes!)

Even when somebody agrees with you, you can never manage to pass up a chance to show everybody what a damned fool you are. Poor dumb queer. No wonder you're in the sad state you're in. And before you object to the term queer, if it's good enough for the title of a national TV show, you have nothin to say in objection. Nothing. Likely because you are nothing. Therefore, take you phony outrage and shove it up your azz. You're out of the closet... of being nothing (and I do mean nothing) but a fraud.

I'm fine with the fact that he wasn't fired, but a canned apology and a slap on the wrist seems odd judging from my perspective because I think if I'd said those things myself while on the job, there would be no question about it... I'd be fired over it. I mean dropping the f-bomb is usually all it takes, but he's got some balls for saying all he actually did get away with saying and I think that reflects upon the company. That is my unbiased observation on the matter.

That is my unbiased observation on the matter. It is TOTALLY biased, but given the circumstances, not all that unreasonable. But the bottom line is, that's the way it goes. If you insist on hanging onto whatever you're hanging on to, so be it. It still is not to change anything. You'll still be disastisfied with the outcome, and the outcomne is not going to change. Sorry, but that's reality, Josh. Yours to do with as you will.

Admit it, you know you're wrong, and it is a simple matter of pride that you refuse to give up being a bigot.

Admit it, you know you're wrong, and it is a simple matter of pride that you refuse to give up being a bigot. Why should I admit to something that isn't true just to accommodate your petty ego and false pride? You know nothing, especially about what I think. Not all biases are bad and I considered your bias as clearly shown in your post, to be not entirely unreasonable. I'm not bitter and have no reason to consider than nonsense especially since you are making that false claim. Indeed, since your bias was considered not unreasonable, the bitterness as shown by your silly response seems clearly to be all yours. Had you any emotional balance, you might undestand that not all biases are bad. For instance, I am biased toward intelligent people. I am biased toward those who have served in the military. I am biased toward those who are reasonable and articulate. Okay, so those parameters do not include you. And let's look at my biases against. I am biased against stupid people who for reasons unknown, think they are smart. I am biased against liars and frauds. I am biased against hypocrites. So here's the deal. If your ego gets a tingle believing that I'm a bigot, have your little tingle. Doesn't make the slightest difference to me, doesn't change reality, and it doesn't help your stupidity, bitterness and hate. But if all you want is that transitory tingle, go for it. Since I know better, do you experience any satisfaction saying your silly nonsense knowing that it's nothing more than your petty, unimpressive bullsh!t that accomplishes nothing? And does that mirror the rest of your life, accomplishing nothing? So let's recap. You're petty, bitter, wrong, biased, hateful and a hypocrite. My guess is that you're not all that bright, either. That tingle still working for you?

Maybe I should have mentioned that you're also stupid if you expect me to buy into your lies which are so transparent, and of course I would know far better about since you obviously and desperately had to make something up as a distraction. Are you that stupid, Josh? How sad. You initially had me thinking that wasn't the case... long ago before I got used to, and so easily understood your bullsh!t. How's that tingle working for you?

But then again, you just make up silly bullsh!t to fit your dishonesty. And that's just one reason I have only contempt and disdain for you. Next you'll claim you don't care, but it has already been well established that you're a liar. With malice.
