As a former lifepoint employee I can only breathe a sigh of relief that I was smart enough to leave that sorry excuse for a Healthcare company..it seems they are ONLY concerned with the price of their stock since this is how there executives make MILLIONS of dollars each year and they do that by cutting hospital staffing lowering benefits cutting out overtime and buying cheaper flimsy equipment...and in the end this equal poor pt service...and in talking to fellow employees who still work at my former Hospital they tell me things have only gotten worse...Whew!! glad I got out in time :):)

I totally agree with the opinion that this is the worst healthcare company I have ever worked for and would sooner give up my career as a nurse than ever go back

Perhaps you should wonder why there are never posts from LifePoint facilities where there aren't as many whining nurses and sub-par physicians. Does it mean an intelligent opinion is to be made from a very small "n"....which most would agree is not statistically valid?

There are currently many cases of cheating going on at DRMC. Certain Drs. running around with married nurses.

my hospital is full of wonderful employees, but they are so unhappy. We have lost many good employees who finally couldn't take it anymore. Everything is going downhill there and I am starting to get scared. No one who should care does care. They just keep on with the flexing and cuts... I dread going in every day.

What a travesty!!!!! Lifepoint took several really good hospitals in our area and turned them into some of the poorest excuses of healthcare providers that I have ever seen. After 32 years in healthcare I can safely say that Lifepoint is the most irresponsible and money focused institution. I can't even call them hospitals. They are a joke. Please don't go there if you get sick. Healcare is so substandard in those facilities that I am ashamed to say that I even worked there for three months.

What the Hell are you talking about? you start off with a question then go on about a small "n"...is that the "n" word you're referring to? I am a former LifePoint hospital employee from Lake Havasu City. I thought I would try to find out if anyone else was disgusted with the company as much as I was while I was working there and I am glad I am not the only one. I worked a lot of overtime but if you didn't justify your existence after your scheduled end time you didn't get the overtime pay you deserved. On the check stub the extra time was generically listed as OTHPR and you were paid your base rate. What a total waste of 9 months. I moved myself almost 2000 miles to work for a shady company in a low quality facility. I wish I would have done my homework before I signed the contract.

The Dirt wrote: What the Hell are you talking about? you start off with a question then go on about a small "n"...is that the "n" word you're referring to? <quoted text> "small 'n'" refers to a "small number". If there is a small n or number of members of a subset or test group, then that typically makes the results suspect. If the number is too small, then you could say that the outcome is not statistically valid, or not representative of the total population as a whole.

Quite a few readers in our region are reading our experiences in a vacuum and don't have any idea of experiences by other LPNT employees at other facilities. Thx.

I work as an ER physician, employed by an outside firm, at a Lifepoint Hospital. I agree with the statements made above, that administration has no interest in providing quality patient care. In the Emergency Room the nurses are sorely overworked. There aren't enough nurses to cover shifts, so the existing nurses work overtime. There also are not enough nurses per shift, and administration refuses to add a unit clerk. Nursing does their own lab draws, patient registration, charge entry, order entry, in addition to their usual duties. With only two nurses on at a time, this makes life really difficult when the ambulances start to roll in. In response to the statistical analysis statement, maybe there are no positive comments from non-"whiny" nurses or competent doctors because there are few satisfied employees in the LifePoint system to post positive comments. Just a thought.

http://www.topix.net/forum/city/somerset-ky/T... This is a link to Somerset,KY topix discussion on their local hospital lake cumberlan regional. It is also a Lifepoint facility and the staffthere is miserable too. It has gone progresively downhill as far as the treatment of staff since lifepoint's purchase. THis must not be an isolated event. There are several discusions about the hospital in Somerset

What is statistically valid is that Life Point is the second largest private health care provider in the country and almost no one that has ever worked there except for the bonus getters are happy with their history at Life Point. So you think that we are just whiners. Not so at all. So bugger off and stop trying to paint us are ex-emps looking for pay back because that is not what is happening here. Just the truth. LCRH here.

I recently became a Lifepoint employee. I have never experienced such poor staffing conditions. Pts are treated as numbers and staffing is done by the number of patients not the acuity. It is a very unsafe environment for the staff and patients. This is the only facility for 30 miles or so in a rural Va town. I would not bring my loved ones to this hospital for any reason barring emergent care and transfer. No one is happy here and the pts receive substandard care due to "skeleton" staffing, lack of supplies and the idea that a nurse can be interchanged to any unit regardless if they have worked there or not. Orientation is almost nonexistent. They send staff on orientation home for low census and have cut orientation time in half. They do not care if staff are competent or not. I feel so sad for the people in this community that need and deserve better health care!!! Alot of nurses are looking for other jobs including myself. I wish someone could stop Lifepoint from continuing to profit at ALL others expense.

Lifepoint buying a facility is good for No One. Except possibly the shareholders who if the can squeeze a few dimes out of it before totally ruining it.
