I am heartbroken. I have loved the quality and style of Dana Buchman's line. I have received
so many compliments on her clothing. Now, where
do I go to find that combination of classic style, great fabrics, color and design? Her boutique was the one place where I knew I would
find my taste and style. For years I've depended
on finding my wardrobe at Dana Buchman's. What a
pity that great quality is sacrificed for cheaper,
inferior quality fashion that nobody wants

Daisy Fuentes, Vera Wang...

They both have merchandise sold at Kohls. And they are not 'cheap or inferior' items.

Who's to say that you won't like her line once it's in Kohl's stores? Also, you stated that her clothing line will be cheap. I tend to find that clothes at boutiques are overpriced. You are paying for the name, more so than the item.

Also, this is why you need to buy clothing from more than one clothing line.

I've loved Dana Buchman's style and fabrics for many years she' right up there with Eileen Fischer. I hope that the quality and style will be equal to what her fans are used to. The pieces are timless that I have in my wardrobe and I get compliments a plenty when I'm wearing them.

If you love, depend, and trust the Dana Buchman line so much, do you really think she will let her new clothes line at Kohls be sacrificed in her name? Shame on you for not standing behind her and trusting that her new line at Kohls will be just as fabulous as in a boutique.

Her line debuted on Tuesday, and it looks really nice. Some of the pieces are for the more 'mature' woman, but those are nice too. The colors are vibrant. A little pricey tho. We'll see how it sells.

Maybe we need to realize what we have been paying for all of these years. Are you paying for the designer's name and good quality or are you over paying for an image and status of 5th avenue and Park ave. Maybe its time to leave the fake status symbols alone and go back to the basics.

Most clothing is sold in combination with image, style, quality, etceteras. I've always loved Dana Buchman but have only a few of her pieces because the image I was paying for was overpriced. I hope the quality and style are decent at Kohls which has the Daisy Fuentes line, which I think is of decent quality, but the Vera Wang line has styles only my size 4 daughter can wear--and she won't buy the line because of its colors and style!

The line will probably not be of the same quality of Buchman sold in other stores, ie., Jones New York has a line that is sold in Nordstrom and Macy's, and there is a line sold by Jones avaialbale in JC Penney's - not nearly the same quality, but better quality than many of Penney's clothing. Issac Mizrahi sells a line in Target, but you can still get his upscale line in the better department stores. The designers are just appealing to different price points.

The more I think about it the more sense it makes in this economy for Buchman and other designers to try to make any money in this economy they have to appeal to a larger audience and Kohl's will help achieve this appeal in a way that Filene's, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, etc., won't be able to - a line designed and priced for these markets (Kohls, Target, etc.).

I have a few Vera Wang items. I love her purses. And yes, Daisy Fuentes does have some beautiful clothes.

I like the Elle Collection at Kohl's. I have many pieces from that line.

I agree... i have lover her line for years. I am fearful that the quality of her product will be compromised by this affiliation. i have shopped at Kohls and however have never purchased clothing items as the quality was poor and the sytle was lacking.

Don't sit at home and be 'fearful' that the quality will be compromised. You should go and check it out before you write such comments on here.

I'm not crazy about the quality of the clothing at Kohls either, but their lingerie is awessssommmmmmeeee. I prefer the Bali brand and normally purchase at Macy's but for the last year I've been purchasing at Kohl's since it always seems to be on sale there. They have jeans that are decent for my 7 year old - he's growing like a weed and it doesn't make sense to spend a lot of money on things he's only going to wear for a few months....my clothing needs to last though since I come back to it for several seasons, so I opt for higher quality items.

It's funny that you should say that. My clothing from Kohl's lasts for several seasons, not to mention several years.

Admittedly, there are cheaper brands which do wear out after time, but brands like Elle, Apt 9, Chaps, Acxess, etc are durable and flattering. Also, the jeans (Levi's and Lee's) are recognized names and of high quality.

What brands have you tried at Kohl's and didn't like?

My preferred brand of clothing is Jones New York and Talbots. The price point of Jones New York clothing offers things like extra pleating to assure the lining stays in place, detailed stitching and enforcement stitching, french seams on skirts and dresses, additional soft interfacing in blazers. Without exaggeration I have a black wool pants suit that is 12 years old that I have been able to come back to after weight gains (pregnancy) weight loss, weight gain (couldn't exercise for several months). The suit is what I call my uniform --those mornings I can't be bothered trying to figure out what to wear (although I have 3 other black pants suits), this one always works. Also the clothing is made consistently to fit middle aged women - it fits - I'm in very good physical shape but shopping in junior clothing department doesn't work in terms of styling or fit. The workmanship and quality found in Talbots and Jones New York clothing would be available in Kohl's price point.

I looked at Jones New York just now, and wow,$69.00 for a tank top is a bit much! Seems a little pricey, but I'm sure, as you say, you get the extra stitching, pleating, etc.

To each his own, I guess. That's why there are stores galore because we each have our own fashion preference!

Have a great night!

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Scorpio

You're in the mood to spend money on a favourite hobby or pastime today, so take care if you're supposed to making every penny count at the moment. The temptation to treat yourself to something that you'll undoubtedly enjoy will be too strong to resist, and the trouble is that you might not restrict yourself to just one item either. It looks like being an extravagant day!
