Wasn't a similar store located in that same building 4 or 5 years ago that also went bankrupt?

Perhaps people in this area don't need fancy tablecloths and high end bed sheets.

It's always sad to see a business close. Linens and Things was always good for those hard to find home items.

I liked the former store called Home Place better.

Sorry for the jobs being canned.

Could this be the start of many closings in retail due to the economy?
I think so!!! Sorry for the job losses. Not a good sign.

Susan get a clue about the "mix". There are no other stores like Linens and Things in the area. We'll have to drive to Montrose and to Beds, Bath and Beyond.

Thanks J Max.

I couldn't remember the name of the place but still have the fixtures I bought at their 'bankruptcy' or 'going out of business' sale.

If you are going to have a big retail store, you better be diverse. I'll predict if a 3rd linen store goes in there, several years from now the ABJ will be reporting on a 3rd linen store closing .

I am not surprised. This is awful. Now more people will be without a job.
Personally, I have only been there 1-2 times. I like bed bath and beyond a lot better. Overall I am a Target shopper.

This is sad though.

THERE IS A BED BATH & BEYOND IN STOW IN THE PLAZA WHERE KOHLS AND TARGET ARE LOCATED.

At my store, we are losing our jobs, the company cares little for it's long-term people. We were promised bonuses & discounts to stay on through liquidation. Now that the sales have started, nothing-- no transfers, bonuses, discounts, nothing but fake promises. Terrible place to be!

Buying online at the overstock sites is cheaper than any retail linen and bath store.

Actually it is when gas is $4 a gallon!! I live right down the street in falls & it may not be the best shopping. Its much cheaper than driving to stow or montrose. Linens & things is mildly over priced. Even now w/ the sale prices its still more for a comforter than JC Pennys. The sales staff were rude & bratty too!

It is cheaper if your safety means nothing... That area is getting rougher by the day.

Damn.
Well, it's not that surprising. Linens n' Things is a bit on the pricey side unless you're there for the "As Seen On TV" stuff, imo.

I believe the BBB store in Stow is much closer to Chapel Hill than Montrose.

Evidently you have had good luck living in that area. Either that, or you know the hoods that are committing the crimes and they just leave you alone...
