Give it up Strickland. You've lost any traction you had on this one. As a lifelong dem, I am embarrassed about what our party has done and left undone. Focus on what little good there is to focus on - budget cuts; state employment cuts (cuts in the ranks of state employees) and be honest for a change.

Strickland is pathetic in his attacks. Why donlt you talk about the positive things that you have done to help Ohio in the past 4 years Ted? I know it would be s very short conversation, but I would love to hear you summarize whay you have done.

Kasich was hired as a rainmaker typical of a company when you hire and market a Washington insider. Kasich had a duty to market Lehman Brothers and solict business and was paid to do so. For him to state and act that he had a little role with "a two man office in Columbus" is misleading. If this is fact Lehman compensated him quite well for doing nothing. Was he solely responsible for the collapse(no)but he did market and tried to influence investments pertaining to Ohio pension funds...Strickland has been no prize but Kasich is no better and will only run an agenda that will benefit his needs and feed his ego. This is politics which is again offering class A players to play in the big leagues.

Kasich tried to influence the pension funds, but did the pension funds actually make any investments that Kasich pushed? No. Strickland is desparate and looking for any mole hill to make a mountain out of. Props to the pension funds for not caving to the pressure.

I'm still trying to figure out exactly what Kasich did as a Managing Director to earn his big pay checks and bonuses. Anytime he's asked about it, he always points to the fact that he had no power in the company and that he didn't really do anything. It'd be nice if he's clear this up.

The article says "said in an internal STRS e-mail: "John Kasich called me to try to pitch Lehman's brokerage services to sell our mall portfolio in mid-2002. It was less than a 10 min conversation."

The work eventually went to a Lehman competitor."

Can someone tell me why anyone would care about a 10 minute phone call in 2002 that resulted in zero money changing hands ?

Plus, the STRS is the pension fund that has 40 billion in unfunded liabilities.

Check out this Columbus Dispatch article:

http://www.dispatchpolitics.com/live/content/...

It says "The fund now has $40 billion in unfunded liabilities and is seeking a taxpayer bailout."

I think this is a bigger issue than a 10 minute phone call.

I think Kasich did about ten times more work for his bonus as millions of federal employees do for their salaries. That would be next to nothing which is about 10 times more than virtually nothing.

Kasich is done. Over. Finished. Go back to Wall Street. Sell some books. Whatever you do, please do not darken the door of this state ever again, and please take your pompus, self-righteous "Bible Guys" Neanderthals with you.

Remember, kids, Jesus wants you to vote Republican because hatred and greed are "family values."

This article is even more humorous.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100723/ap_on_re_...

"Council members emerged from an hours-long closed session at midnight Friday and announced that they'd accepted the resignations of Chief Administrative Officer Robert Rizzo, Assistant City Manager Angela Spaccia and Police Chief Randy Adams.

Rizzo was the highest paid at $787,637 a year — nearly twice the pay of President Barack Obama — for overseeing one of the poorest towns in Los Angeles County.

Spaccia makes $376,288 a year and Adams earns $457,000, 50 percent more than Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck."

Strickland's ads against Kasich are a bit tiresome. Alright already, we know he got rich on Wall Street. Let's talk about Ohio.

But these posters in here are being silly. Strickland is ahead in the polls by 5 points. The Other Paper just ran a cover story on the guy calling him an SOB for his repeated rudeness toward clerks and other working people.

It is too early for either to be called "on the ropes" but if anyone is, it is Kasich.

It needs to be remembered that the 2008 Wall Street crash was in all likelihood knowingly caused by Democratic insiders in exile in the financial industry, who feared at Labor Day 2008 that John McCain's lead in the polls would hold and that they would not return to lucrative government jobs in an Obama regime. As the Shirley Sherrod affair has shown, the odds are good that any given "revelation" is a piece of disinformation planted by the marxist propaganda machine, which has of course been active underground in this country for most of the past century and has been beavering away since 1968 in the anticipation of eventual, and now impending, revolution.

"Was it a mistake or was it a decision to withhold full disclosure?" Strickland asked. "I don't know, but I think it is a question that is relevant and should be asked and there should be an explanation."

Interesting take from a man whose Administration obstructed the Inspector General's investigation into wrong doing by the director of Public Safety and who personally challenged the findings.

I hope for your sake that you're a libertarian, so that you're in sync with your political party's views on the legalization of drugs. You are smoking some serious weed or perhaps something even stronger. Quit hanging around backstage with Mel Gibson and Ted Nugent.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Capricorn

You feel like overindulging yourself in some way today, and why not? Throw caution to the wind and eat your way through a big bar of chocolate, or have a retail therapy session that leaves you reeling from the amount of money you've spent. There's a definite chance you could get carried away and tell a whopper of a story that has little resemblance to what really happened. What on earth has got into you?
