Strickland-Kasich tax flap is nothing new

Full story: DispatchPolitics

If taxes and death are life's only certainties, then the attempted use of taxes to inflict political death is at least among its inevitabilities.

I don't care whether or not Kasich releases his tax returns. I know he makes more money than I do, and probably has made more money thus far then I ever will in my lifetime.

I don't agree with the fact that Strickland and his camp is tying Kasich to the Wall Street collapse. Yes, he worked for Lehman, they had a major role in what has happened, blah blah blah.

I vote on the issues. I'm an educator; Strickland has done more for me in the past four years than Kasich will do in eight. Plain and simple.

Buckle your seat belts, folks, it's going to be a long, bumpy ride to November. I'm already sick of the campaign ads and it's only June.

Sure, I John Kasich will only do what the all-powerful intrusive government forces me to do against my will. But please elect me because I want to be in charge of it. Somehow his unwillingness to be open about this matter seems a bit insincere. I think this is what the early right-wing conservatives called "situational ethics."

Once again, the Democrats try to disparage and condemn financial success. Why? Because, if you can succeed on your own, you don't need the government to take care of you. They want us all to be totally dependent on them. No thanks!

Kasich and that third grade haircut his father gave him looks like a perfect Nelson. Like every RepubliCANT before him, he's bad news for Ohio.

Of course any educated person would want to see Kashich's tax return. "Nichols said voters are more concerned about their own incomes than Kasich's" I don't have a problem with my own tax return so why would any responsible person not want to see what he is hiding.

That has to be one of the most fair and balanced (and I'm not being sarcastic) political articles the Dispatch has provided in a long time. I wonder if the trend will continue through November especially since Kasich is their darling.

RUFKM???? Strickland has chased 450,000 jobs out of Ohio and done little to nothing to bring in new ones. Keep drinking that Libdem Koolaide! I want a Governor who knows how to make money, not spend it like Teddy and his bunch.

John Kasich is a hypocritical jerk. Strickland has a $2,000,000 cash advantage and he took one of the major right-wing organization's endorsements from Kasich yesterday. If Kasich doesn't have the gun nuts behind him, he can't win. He certainly can't win with as little financial backing as he has. It's interesting that Kasich's Wall Street cronies aren't coming to his aid now. I wonder if Kasich's recklessness caused Lehman's collapse and his former colleagues resent him for it.

This election is not going to go as the corporate media tells us. Voters aren't going to put the Republican Crime Syndicate back in charge of anything. In fact, their rejection by the American public in a third consecutive election cycle will put the Right-Wing Racial-Hatred Machine out of business once and for all. The GOP is hating and excluding themselves into irrelevancy.

The Republican Party's ideas are intellectually bankrupt, its leadership is morally bankrupt, and its policies made millions of Americans financially bankrupt.

Yet, the fact remains that Governor Strickland has FAILED in leadership, job creation, and management of HIS "corrupt" employees while at the helm. Ohioans have suffered RECORD unemployment, home foreclosures, business bankruptcy under HIS tenure.
Distract all you want "Governor DO NOTHING!" the FACT remain.(as well as high unemployement, suffering of Ohio working families, and business failures)
Just the Facts.
Next! Mr. Kasich its your turn.

You all act like the Governor is the most powerful person in Ohio. He isn't. The reason is the Republican State Senate is why nothing got done, good or bad. The Bottom line of this is...It's the legislature. In addition, putting stupid crap up for initiatives isn't helping. With all of these new things for the legislature to spend time on to come up with implementation and spin of all of the voter crap, they can't get anything done now. That is not to say that they have done anything before. This is not RECORD unemployment either unless you are under 20 years old...LOL

Look , Kasich is running for public office. He needs to reveal his tax returns similar to any public official getting a security clearance. This goes for any public office seeker from any party. If this is how he acts now, wait until hes in office.

I for one will vote for Kasich just for the fact that his knowledge of Government far exceeds Stricklands and we all know what a lack of knowledge can do to our Gov't just look at the mess some people voted into Washington D C. What a disgrace to this country.

Ted Strickland has nothing to offer but a poor record of being governor for the past couple of years, so his campaign is constantly trying to divert attention from the fact that he is a poor governor. Enough Ohioans are smart enought and fed up enough that they will see through this charade and Ted will be fired this November!

If "succeeding on your own" means "being a career politician and then cashing in with your political buddies," then I suppose you could view Kasich as a personal success. I, however, consider people who had to work hard, take risks, and build from the ground up as those who have "succeeded on their own."

John Kasich can do more for Ohio and make us be proud again. I have watched him from his start and he is faithful to the tax payers. He wants the best for people and business. Why should people limit anybody's income. Lets go for the recovery of Ohio and our United States. If you want the middle class to come back vote for Kasich.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Aquarius

You won't like it if you feel your wings are being clipped today. You want to do something in particular, only to discover that someone is objecting to your plans or that circumstances beyond your control are standing in your way. Although your instincts tell you to throw a tantrum to get your point across, you must ask yourself what this will achieve, and whether it will actually be self-defeating.
