Lear ajax workers are getting worked over by the company as well as our union brothers to the east at Lear Whitby. With 2 plants close together and the whitby plant half empty(lost contract)the company wants to combine bolth plants in whitby.Lear Ajax is a tier 1 plant and whitby a tier 2.The company wants us to move to save costs and lear whitby union wants us to move so they can take my job.I think it takes allot of balls to think you should gain our jobs because you screwwed up your own. Thanks,I'm done!

I am not sure how its going to work but It sounds like ajax will be blended or go 1 for 1 with whitby workers.Whitby has done all they can to mess up their contract with gm.10 times as many prr's & 5 times as much S&A/lgt duty ect.ect.These guys in whitby are going to retire on the backs of our hard work and its just WRONG!In comparison to whitby, AJAX employees are Choirboys.I am probably going to loose my job and I have 17yrs in and have been off a total of 2 weeks on S&A..........I go to work!CAW 1090(our local)against caw 222..........who do you think is going to win?If they had done their jobs in the first place there would be no room for our plant in whitby........

If work goes to Whitby I would have to think it would belong to 222.If Whitby work came to Ajax it would belong to 1090 wouldnt it? And by the way - what contract did Whitby lose? Personaly I hope you guys get that work so I can double my severance on plant closure. Senority rights still apply last time I checked. That would make you guys bottom of the list. If the tables were turnrd what would you say ?

"Get that work??????????It IS our work!"

Not if it comes to Whitby. Its only "your work" if it stays in Ajax. If that work comes thru our door you can bet that our employees will be doing it. Its our floor space. Dont blame the union - blame the company. If we have layed off members you can be sure theres gonna be a battle over who assembles seats in Whitby plant 2.

Just close the place and put all of us out of our misery. It's bad that you reduce so much and still have to have 3 union stewards in an dept (33) and all have 6 0r less years senority. O well , How can a company stay afloat with 300 people or less??

That's exactly what they are up to...break us down till morale is so low, that we'll jump at concessions to get any work.If our union had any foresight they would have had penalties in place should employment numbers drop below current levels.

Maybe because they will be closing Kitchener to consolidate all three operations in Whitby. I think your're the one who doesn't get it. Kitchener is the high seniority plant, with only a few remaining with less than 15 yrs.

They will be told the same thing as Ajax. Your senority means nothing to the Whitby plant . Get in line.

Sounds like all the work is out of the Canadian operations soon. The only way for us to have a chance at any of our futures is to WILDCAT on Jan.28, 2008 and show this company and the CAW that we mean business to keep our jobs. I feel the CAW is selling all of us out except for (rodknee and his b/f steve)

Just wondering how long u guys have built the truck seats for, cause the last time I checked I've been building this seat for 20 yrs. So how is this "your work" Back in the day they called u guys scab labour. Today hasn't changed your still a scab and we will take you out.
p.s. thanks for the car seat as well. Ajax will build your seats with no issues. I won't see you on the pogy line cause I will still be workin. Which job do u do cause I will make sure I take that for our new build.

Its still your work - until it comes to Whitby- then its my work. Ask anyone in LOCAL 222. Enjoy your severance.

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Pisces

Relationships are kind of shaky under this Lunar Cycle and you may even get the distinct impression you're heading for a major showdown with a certain someone. Although this feels like a crisis, don't let panic or desperation push you into decisions you would normally steer clear of. You may think you've reached the end of the road, but this isn't a good reason to go off the deep end and make drastic decisions. Proceed with caution!
