Thought Lear Nottingham was being wound down but the new trading name is Lear UK and would continue trading under this name in Nottingham?

I think lear should be closed down in the UK altogether...

shutting lear would be a blessing, downside would be releasing a large influx of management morons into the communities

Don't panic. It is just rumour and conjecture. If we get on with our jobs, meet customer volume and quality requirements we have nothing to worry about. Our VP told us the 3 launches we did last year in Nottingham were KEY to the European and Corporate business. They are not about to close a plant that is doing the job. However, if we let the customers down and fail to meet our production targets, we will close. Businesses exist to make money by satifying customers, not to employ people who fail to do so. Don't worry about Slovakia - they are building different products. It would be nice if senior corporate management quashed these rumours though!

name change is craptastic if you believe the nottingham uk/lear uk then i would say these guys are insulting your intellegience, take a look at the liquidation info it all makes simple sense only a complete fool would believe that garbage statement. then ask yourselves if these were to be rumours why isn,t the big wigs telling us otherwise reason because they are fact

I would worry about things you can change, rather than wasting your time worrying about whether or not the plant will close. Keep your CV up to date and do your job and you should be fine. We will be closed if we lose sight of what we are supposed to be doing. Feel free to apply for other jobs if you want....
