Congraulations on job well done! We have extended our present contract for 30 days in hope to avoid what you all have had to experience. We are small but mighty and will put up a good fight for what is right for those of us who truly "work" and not sit behind a desk all day trying to figure a way to stick it to them again as they have done in the past! We have learned a lot from this last contract and will insist on clearer language and no more case by case or as company deems!

Once Lear asks for concessioins from the locals, the union should demand that all of LEAR's books be opened for union accountants examination!!! As stated before only top management earns ( DID I SAY EARNS, I MEANT GETS PAID) GOOD MONEY!!

I've been with lear for 12 yrs and Do a person keep a job that long that is lazy nah I don't think so. Local 129 accomplished what they should have continue to move forward not backwards. The great contract just ratified loses 20 ARO positions per shift, good for some, not so good for others.

We had 13 AROS per row, for a total of 39 per shift, you know if I believe we have 20 per shift to float to all three OT Zones, you know how mgmt will view it also. You know they are going to insist that the other 19 are employees without bids that they can place in any open job or if they go another direction include them in a RIF. Tell me I am wrong!

I can't tell you that you'll wrong when I don't mgmt plan. I can only assume that they think. That the new 20 aro's able to float the whole plant. They're gonna cut down on overtime call ins. They'll be classified in their own department as plant wide aro's.I actually think they shot their self in the foot with this one. Due to the fact we're going to a point system absantee's should cut down. What kind of pressure are the PWARO's gonna get when 10 of them are offline at the same time. Then you have mgmt crying saying they need something to do. Now you can trust me on that I'm a ARO myself. Our real lost or I guess concession was the way we bump. Now if you get bumped an theres 20 people between you an the lowest person. You still have to bump the lowest person. That cuts out bumping down the line. those 20 people who used to get a day and a half to find a job.So you can have seniority get bumpped then have to take the lowest persons job in your classification who will most likly have the worst job. But do the math they will save on that. 20 people day/half thats 30 days at least 240 free man hours they want have to pay.Can you see it

It seems to me that the GM Arlington plant ran without any problems with the temp workers last week? Until your local really looks on what is going on in the world and GM these days, Lear and there Employees will have no chance. OBAMA said change and that's what Lear has to do now. That's with or without the current Lear Arlington Employees? Wake up UAW this isn't over. This will just get worst.

I don't know, because I wasn't there but seems to me that there were problems or contract would not have been settled so quickly after several months of trying. Several of the salary were sent from here (most were unwilling- made to go to keep their job)and told it would be 12 days if not longer. Apparently, they couldn't or didn't want to do it because 3 or 4 days later BINGO it was settled! And our folks very happy to be sitting behind their desks again! Seems physical labor isn't for some people! We work for our wages and now they found out just how hard!

It will only get worse if Lear mgmt mismanages the business, financially speaking mgmt should be laughing all the way to the bank, or bankruptcy court. Only time will tell but I will be planning a life away from Lear. I would like to support it like I have all my other employers, but they make it too easy to mind my own business and look for better opportunities.

G.M. builds 900 suv's a day they where building 120 per shift that started tues we got signed contract thurs, you do the math also know that we left plenty of seats before we where locked out. Temps where also quiting because their hands were hurting. Our jobs aren't easy. WE where fighting for what we had already earned. From the blood sweat and tears of the last 12 tears. Untill you walk in OUR shoes have an opinion but don't be quick to judge

You need to get your facts straight before you start repeating some he-say she-say. Unless you work at Lear and have had to deal with what we have had to deal with from Lear Management with all of the lying and backstabbing and illegal mess that they have been doing, you really need to be quiet. You dont work there so you have no idea what has been going on. Just imagine that you are married and you have done everything you are supposed to do and your spouse is out there cheating on you and lying to you, then one day your spouse comes home and says ok I want you to pack your things and get out and I will call you when I want you to come back home. How would that make you feel? Not good at all. You didn't even do anything wrong. You are left wondering where you are going to live and how you are going to get by. So again, unless you are in this situation, you cannot judge others because you dont know the whole story...... Try walking in Ajax workers shoes!20 years service for nothing!GM closed the best truck plant in Oshawa so Mexico could build trucks, now Ajax Lear employees are taking massive cuts for the hope of having a job!Consider yourself lucky that I'm not your plant manager.

I did not know that the Mexico market could support all the trucks being made in Mexico, if they are made in Mexico, let Mexico buy them.
