So does anyone know of any IACNA's closing this year? With the economy the way it is I am sure Ross will be pinching pennies.
I heard Huron received some Cobalt replacement business does anyone know about this?
When is the Cobalt officially going out? Or does anyone know. I heard the Cruze was going in the Lordstown Plant does any of it's component parts go to any of the other IACNA's?

I have heard that Lordstown did get the Cruze that will replace the Cobalt. Lebanon has always had the door panel business with the Cavalier then the Cobalt now we hear the Cruze will be going to Huron and here at Lebanon we don't get any of it.
The only thing Lebanon has been working with is several small parts for the BMW out of Spartianburg SC.
As of right now we are still doing the door panels for the Cobalt but it is slow running right now. Friday once again Lebanon had another layoff.

The majority of the employees are on 3rd, 2nd shift is cut out except for a couple of maint. and a cycle counter. 1st shift is low volume. So that is already happening. Now they said our Union officers were in Detroit last week to negotiate wages so I guess that is next and next I wouldn't be surprised shutdown.

Don't believe for 1 min. that things will turn out good for us the workers.Aren't the suppliers getting a gov. bailout? Then they ask for consessions to.Who do you think will be the fat cat in the end!
I also don't believe that if you're laid off or what they ask for in concessions doesn't affect you then you should not be able to vote!

As long as they have recall rights it effects them. By the way, I'm laid off and still voting NO! We should all vote no and make them decide.

madashell,
If they are laid off they are affected. As long as they still have recall rights they are still employed by the company, therefore they have the right to vote.
I don't know why you would say the concessions wouldn't affect them. If they are called back to work then those would affect them.

For Mexican operations things arenīt good so far, the 50% off salary has been applied to many of us in Saltillo, such as Puebla and queretaro plants, Toluca has 2 plants, one of them 100% shuted down 1 week ago. things are so clear this days, nothing good is coming up this next months if GM goes down to chapter 11. by the way those famous lay off fridays are still available.

Which plant in Toluca shut down 100% and was it permanent?

I work for a supplier to IACNA and we're not getting a government bailout. We were fortunate (or just very wise), in that we don't have all of our eggs in one basket. We supply to ALL of the OEMs in the world.

Some of the new Cruze interior business (the I/P, for example) was awarded to Flex-N-Gate...not IAC, by the way.

Oh, I don't work for a new business. We've been in business since 1933. I'm not an hourly worker and my job is safe. I hope all of your jobs are (at least those of you that actually do work when you have a job)!

And you have no idea how much I make, so stop making assumptions.

We're not getting a gov't bailout because we've managed our money wisely and don't need one. I wish the same could be said for all of our customers...like IAC and Lear!!!

Your too funny New business ment the cruz business you were talking about. If you think being salary will keep your job I laugh, I am hourly and there are salary laid off with more time in than me, my seniority kept me working. My assumption about your plant hourly pay is fairly accurate!

The Old Fort plant has all but wiped out 3rd shift. They cut off lights and water fountains to save money. They seem to rewrite the job bumping rules every week to suit their purpose. Our personell manager couldnt find his backdoor with a gps in both hands. They have squeezed down the insurance benefits from a full glass to a teaspoon. 90 percent of the cuts here have come from hourly and we are at over 200 permanently laid off. Moldline workers here make 13.66 per hour. Most of the support workers range from 10.19 to 12.25

Be lucky you have a job and you live in a nice warm location. Also, I'm guessing you don't pay union dues which should be one less deduction coming out of your check.

No we dont pay union Dues and probably make on a par with union folks do. However be thankful you have at least some recourse to unfair labor practices and most frivolous Anal intrusions by management.
In our case its the Robin Hood thing where they take from the non union workers to give to the Union workers... We DONT have a say in those things. And from what i hear you dont have to pay those dues to get the same benefits as other members.

The Mexico plant is a prime example of Collins & Aikmans greed and propensity to screw over the American worker. From what I know the lack of EPA rules and such allowed you guys to pump all your raw sewage to a pond next door... bet it smells really nice !!!
A 50 percent pay cut will still let the average Mexican retire at age 30.
In the beginning I heard that you guys had to drive out and get your workers and feed them and wash them just to get them to work.... and dont forget the SIESTA breaks ..... yep I may just retire there and get me a lovely native to take care of my needs.

No thanks !
Looks like your union brothers are fighting over whats left of the auto industry carcass.
The problem right now is that GM and Chrysler are big bodies without brains.... cant make a competative car for the new century.... drinks gasoline and they all look mostly alike in body style.
The union has slowed progress in this country by inflating the cost of producing cars.
Start a UNION here .... nope.
What you ALL fail to understand is that when you grab those concessions and pat youself on the back for your victory what happens is that the non union workers pay for it.... you are actually economic terrorists.... and NOT AMERICANS.
The south represents hard work and above all integrety.... we are the real brothers !
When this is all over and you union guyz fight to the death most of you will come here looking for work with your paltry 5000 dollar buyouts.
You will get a mobile home and a job at Wendys yur wife will leave your proud union unemployed ass and get a mexican landscaper nicknamed "Grande Borrito"
Just embrace your destiny guys..........
