whats going on at strasburg iac ? when is the layoff

Yeah, I'm curious too, what kind of numbers are they talking now at Strasburg? How many hourly will that leave you guys after the layoffs?

Any word of your existing business joining together with Lebanon's existing business under the same roof???

The rumblings of it down here are getting pretty strong these days!

300 including hourly was suppose to start dec. 1 the gmt 900 is on hrs with 3 shifts! gm wants 2800!! i don't know why such big numbers we have alot of overtime i think to stock pile for the lay-off i'll try to keep you informed.

Okay, I dont mean to be ignorant, but did you mean that 300 is getting laid off or 300 is staying on? Sorry, just dont want to confuse the issue.

I wouldn't look for Strasburg OR Lebanon to be in business much longer. The automobile industry is tanking, that is obvious. The Big Three has been historically slow to respond to changing public tastes, and the UAW isn't helping matters much. "Helping" at the wrong moment, getting in the way at the wrong moment. You guys are like a bunch of monkeys screwing a football.

The newspaper article in the Northern Virginia Daily said that they laid off around 200, leaving them with around 360. About a third of what they had this time last year.

Hope that clears some things up for you.

You guys hear any news about us at IAC Mendon?

I'm hearing tonight that the layoff nuber in Lebanon now is nearing 140.

are your gm 900 parts going to mexico I looked at a new silverado and it was 85 percent us-canadian parts but was assembled in Mexico. there is a large plant in mexico that makes yukons and other gm trucks. Its just a matter of time and your parts will be made their also. they were in our plant 2 years ago learning how to shoot foam in parts then we sent them a brand new foam system.

These numbers are high right now because GM wants to shut down their truck plant in OSHAWA earlier than they said they would.

Just kind of curious question here for everyone from all the other IAC plants, did they make you guys go to that QAD system for labeling/etc also?

Right now we have roughly 323 hourly employees at Lebanon, with 124 of them scheduled to be laid off in a couple of weeks indefinitely.

What about Strasburg, how many do you guys currently have, and how many scheduled to get laid off?

Actually, I probably need to say this...we still dont even know the "exact" number to be laid off as early as next week, because the company is still refusing to post that information. It doesnt matter to them that is only our lives their messing with; why bother, right?!?
But the rumored and estimated amount to go is 124.

we got the canadian and texas line in july. we run 3 shifts 10hrs a day numbers next week are 2ooo a day. we are running out of room in the warehouse.

when is shut down scheduled for and how long?

Next week is last week 4 trucks,start up jan 05 -09-on and off (mostly off)till may when it goes down permanently.
