So what is up with all the workers coming back to work with no new business coming in.
I heard that the business we was supposed to get and put in the off site was cancled.

The"new" business you're speaking of wasn't actually new to begin with...it was more existing Collins & Aikman business from Athens, TN. It wasn't slotted for Lebanon to begin with, we were only being "considered" for it, along with several other IAC facilities. It was sent to another IAC facility instead. We did not have the capacity and/or the equipment to handle the load of the program.

Don't make the mistake of putting so much faith in what Monty says, especially when it comes to new business. Think back to just how many programs he's lied about in the past couple of years, when in essence we have only gotten one, and it was "existing"' business, not "new" business. My motto when it comes to him is this: "Believe it, when you see it with your own eyes...and not until"...that way there will be alot less disappointments. Every program we have at IAC, Lebanon, including the crossover business from C&A are all scheduled to end in two more years. The only real chance we have for a future here after that, is if we get a NEW program launched here within' about the next year or so...otherwise I'm sure you know what will be inevitable at that time.

The people are being called back because, practically every platform in the building is short handed and is requiring alot of overtime in order to meet requirements. Their hope is that calling a few more back will help eliminate the need for so much overtime. So much for those who depend on it, after the paycut we took.
Peace Out.

the only way that place is going to make any acomplishments is to get a new plant manager; face it I think Monty is afraid to get a large buisness in there he probably could not run it... as long as there is a few little jobs in there to give him a plant manager position he does not care if it grows or not just more stess on him if new buisness comes in and he cannot handle it HELL obviously he doesnt know what the hell he is doing now thats why he lets Paula And Terri run the place. They dont even know what they are doing they screw so many people i am suprised they dont stand outside the door of HR and hand out vaseline before the workers come in. LOLLL!!!!

I dont know anything about meetings with maintenance and eng. techs. From what I understand, the crowd around press 17 last week was to educate our techs and maint. on the sensitivity of a couple fo the new tools that we are already running from C&A. Evidently, they're some differences between them and our other molds, and it was really just like a preventative thing to keep our guys from screwing them up. The visitors were from the companys that made the tooling.

We expect the strike today to have a big impact on our plant by mid to late week. 001 will proabaly start feeling the affects by morning tomorrow.
Peace Out!

They say 8-15
Now they say 30-100 in jan and feb.
But monty tells one person thing and another one something else.
But the union will not tell anyone what is going on or how many they are going to lay off.
you know they have to know something.

Well there's your first mistake...listening to anything that, the lying, cheatin', no good, no moraled, son of a bitch plant manager has to say!!! Besides, Monty has been in the plant like what? Maybe a total of about 10 days since the contract was passed, and I say good riddance! The plant is a much more peaceful and productive place when he is gone. Hopefully he has found someone in Dayton to replace A.L.,and we're hoping that he'll take up residence there!

The union cant tell you, what the union doesnt know! Yes, there will be a small layoff near the end of January, and probably another one in June when Moraine goes to one shift.

I would say why print checks for zero profit, this would cost iac money. No check = zero profit,But id bet we will get a good will letter that states we need to work harder at controlling cost & blah, blah, blah, put your back into it & all that other old ceo spill we normaly get.Merry Xmas everbody!

Yes our plant is having a layoff. These guys get called back and then through the holidays they are told the "good" news!! I hate it for these guys.
As for me I have heard of nothing coming into the plant but everything we have seems to be going out of the plant. Our furious so called leader is doing nothing to help us. He feels we can't deal with a large launch HELLO we have dealt with many of a large launch as a matter of fact every launch was in force when he stepped in. He had nothing to do with the launches we had. It is MR MONTY who doesn't know how to bring in a launch. As my co-worker stated earlier we run much more better without his presence in the plant.
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and that everyone will have a Happy New Year!!!

IAC is the former Lear Interiors Division which was sold to Wilbur Ross and another Investor. Lear still has a 25% interest in IAC (International Automotive Components). Everything was finalized for North America in the spring of 2007. At the Mississauga Ontario Canada plant we changed to IAC April 1st. The biggest thing with the takeover is that all of the former Lear plants where hit up for consessions.

In October 2007 IAC took over 16 of the Collins and Aikman soft trim plant and IAC has also bought some of the C & A plants in Mexico

Well guess it's kinda official now. A plan for manning was posted yesterday and it appears as though about 26 people are going to be laid off. If thier numbers are accurate. There are a few volunteers, retirees- etc., but still leaves me and others job searchin' again. Just thought that I would keep you guys posted.

If something doesn't appear in this place we all will be job searching with ya! I hate it for the ones who got laid off Friday. Good luck to you all. I hear within 3 weeks there is going to be another one. I haven't heard how many though. I hope it is just rumor. I hope each and every one that was in the layoff will have success outside of this place and get a good paying job that you will have years to come. In this place there seems to be no future for any of us!! God Bless!!
