to put it politely it sucks. There is no guarantee that there will be work so why take concessions. Makes no sense to me. If everyone votes no the old contract stands. Either way if they want to close the plant they are going to do it so leave the contract as is.

it appears you do not know how to read.page 1 clearly reads that the new CRS program has been awarded to roscommon which creates between 67 and 82 jobs.No where in our existing contract states this.I do realize that you are more then likly 1 of the few that abuse the system FMLA,Work restrictions, and just plain do not care about anyone but yourself.I for 1 will vote yes and this will allow me time to find a better 1 if I choose to do so,or I could think like you and stand in line to collect my welfare check and

"IF" you were at the meeting yesterday you would have heard Becky state that the "work" has not been awarded yet. It depends on the ratifying of the contract for one and second there is still no guarantee that the plant will get the work even if the contract is ratified. "If" the work comes in a lot depends on how much due to size of equipment, if there is not enough room to accomodate the new work than they will take out equipment to make room then for new work and that means that there will still be less employees, as well as what the projected sales and volume would be will determine how many employees needed, which could be who are in the plant now. Kind of like the line in back with the addition Lear said there would be 32 new jobs. What happened there? Everything went to Mexico and this line has the chance of going south also. This was all discussed at the meeting. Lear cannot guarantee the work coming in or staying in the plant. Lear cannot guarantee that there will be 165 employees in the plant in 2015. Look at where the plant was with 336+ employees a year ago and where it is today.

you are correct about the contract being ratified.but as i stated in the first comment page 1 cleary states that the work would be sourced to roscommon, and i also agree with you about our other work going to mexico, but you also have to relize that it is not only lear that is sending union jobs there.we have no guarantee that we will find a job either if they close the plant.I'm a gambling person and will still vote yes.what other choice do i have?

Well if the contract does get ratified the next step to worry about is how the bankruptcy may or may not affect things. Lear is filing bankruptcy on Monday. I guess all we can do is wait and see what happens. I would like to see Roscommon Lear survive. It would be nice to have it up and running the way it use to be.

What information do you have that Lear will be filing on Monday? The rumor mill has had them filing every week for the past 3 months.

Bargaining committee mentioned it at our meeting yesterday for concessions on the contract. Meeting on Tuesday vote on Thursday. I have seen nothing else to confirm it though.

Here is my thought on this whole thing
UAW reps wanted us to take this sh_ty contract because all the big 3 workers or most of them are laid off!!
Therefore we (Lear Roscommon) is worthy
Worthy enough to try and save our jobs (to save there’s)
---> UAW reps that is
They do not care about us, they want them dues.
We are just the little people.
They only care about the big 3
Why do you think it only takes 2 weeks for them to come up with a Lear contract and 4-10 months for the big 3!!!!
yes I understand that the big 3 give them more but us out-back red neck wood tick are nothing to them ( and I bet that’s what they talk about during their 2 & 1/2 hour ride home ( them rosco suckers )
As long as they get our dues they don't care about us..
But now that we are there last resort they care..
My opinion they do not deserve to were the UAW logo
UAW reps (I hope you are out like we are because it is 100% your fault)
Thursday June 18 the UAW pissed on the union bro's and sisters of rosco..
As they have done before!!!!
I think the UAW is a huge scam they have never helped the rosco plant and none of the other small automotive plants..Rosco made a stand today and I am proud to be a local 1819 member (not UAW) but an 1819 member!!!
Good job every1 and best wishes to where ever life may take you,

Because of today I choose to not work for another UAW facility again!!!!

Our UAW reps wanted us to work for less than
WAL-MART wages (so they could continue receiving dues)
That was by far the worst representation I have ever seen..
They said
You want to keep the business here for your community!!
What about us!!
We will work for less than peanuts to keep the community happy ok!!!
Yeah right!!
That’s like hold a baby over a cliff and saying take the job or I drop the kid!!!
C’mon you D-mb a55 go back to soliciting.. You learned that community thing in soliciting 101 didn't you!!
That’s all for now (till the reps decide to explain themselves)
They need to be investigated I think!!
Good bye and good ridden’s

lear roscommon will close due to the non ratification of a contract that was put forth via ultimatum sign or close. If it was true that roscommon would have gotten thhe work to stay open had they taken the smalll concessions that were asked this will turn out to be a huge mistake by the 1819. If this work now goes to another lear coorporation what petty crooks lear corporation will be. supposedly this work would only be awarded to lear if roscommon took the deal or it would go to another corporation all together. I agree with the vote of no for this reason....If you take out a car loan and default on the agreement they take the car back and you still have to pay what you owe and get a hit on your credit. WHO IS HOLDING LEAR RESPONSIBLE FOR DEFAULTING ON THIS CONTRACT THAT GUARUNTEED WORK FOR 5 YEARS? ANSWER NO ONE. WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT AND DEFAULT ON IT. It is not the 1819s fualt the auto industry is in ruins they are already the lowest paid lear facility in the u.s. and the most productive they held up there end of the agreement. Where is lears backbone stand up and take like the rest of the citizens have to and honor your contract find the work.

I cannot believe what my brothers and sisters have done. At least if it would have been ratified it would have bought me time to look for another job (which we will need a ton of time to find). Now the hour glass has been turned over, limited unemployment and limited insurance. All because a small group of us made a bad decission. I hear every one talk about them hitting our vacation time. Did anyone think that by the time this takes effect most of the people complaining they will be retired. Five minute wash time, who cares, they can't catch us all. Most of us show up way early and some even stay after work so why does this matter. Insurance isn't terrible. The lump sum, with all the work filling the building i would think there would be overtime (which we all suck up like mad). Last I checked there is no guard at the enterance or at the door, there is no fence to keep us in. So those who hate it there why don't you just leave and get those jobs I hear about while sitting at the lunch table. Or go on disability if you think it is that easy. You seem to have it all figured out. Why take me down with your know it all ***. One other thing, if you people that get on here hate Lear and are happy on lay-off, why do you get on here and check to see how Lear is doing. If you are so happy why do you care?

Daily Horoscope for June 4

Aquarius

The emotional atmosphere is quite potent under this Lunar Eclipse, evoking a sense of crisis. The problems you've been experiencing with a certain person lately come to a head during the next fortnight, making you feel that you have to take drastic action or lay down the law. Yet this could make the situation worse than ever, especially if you act from a sense of panic or desperation. Take things gently and don't throw your weight around unless it's absolutely necessary.
